I look for big things from Cooley. I think he may be under-utilized at first...but the Skins will eventually warm up to him and by the middle/end of the year, he'll be a stud TE.

I like everything I saw from him except that he wasn't very agressive. He let a CB/safety bring him down without putting his head down and trying to deliver some punishment.

 he'll get better with time. he dosen't have much of a rep for blocking, but hes's 260! he's got to be able to stand in the way of something. good hands. i noticed that at camp too.

260lbs? He didn't look that big at camp - but from where we were fenced off they all looked a lot smaller. Except Sean Taylor.......arghhhhhh. Ok and the Linemen.

But the kid does have hands, he caught everything that was thrown at him Sat. night.

Actually he won some award last year for his blocking abilities. It was a pretty major award, though I can't remember the name. At 260 hes like a small tackle. I'm sure that he will get better at blocking in J. Gibbs scheme. I don't think that he is a poor blocker, it just seems like he was used as a big receiver in his college career.

This is a kid with good size, good hands, a gifted talent at the position(whether it's H-Back or TE)and hopefully a loyalty that will make him that "Core Redskin" Gibbs is looking for.

Yes he did. Although I'm at a loss as to what it's called. He also beat out K2 in Receptions if I'm not mistaken!!!! I really like this kid!!!!

well that has a lot to do with Brock Berlin being Miami's QB! He sucked big time! Winslow only had 1 TD! I was very impressed by Cooley! He looks like he has great hands! He so big! I cant wait to see him plow people over!

Actually, he led all TE's in receptions last year!!! I just really like the fact that he topped Mr. "I'm the best and a soldier so I'll just make Washington pay for not drafting me by holding out of training camp until I get the most money ever paid to a TE" individual!!!!! :puke:

He won the Utah State Aggies' Golden Helmet Award. It isn't necessarily for blocking but for the "hardest hitter" :o :D Oh yeah, can't wait to see him line up in the backfield and lay into Kearse or Wiley coming around the end :!: Apparently, as a freshman he played on D and special teams. Don't know what position though, probably a linebacker. He's looked pretty solid so far.

THANK YOU!!! I was almost getting a headache trying to remember!!! But, then again I guess I could've gone and looked it up(LOL). Also, my fellow brethren, take a look at his diary entries at www.redskins.com. He talks about his need to work on his blocking. Plus I like his statement in there somewhere about how he just wants to play football!!

He will be a good Skin for many years.

I was hoping that Robert Royal could get healthy and use his size and strength to become an excelent TE but i doubt he makes the team this year.

Look for good things soon from Cooley though.

This guy is a Gibbs Redskin. Tough, smart, hard working.

He is going to be a great player for us.
