Joe Gibbs for GM.
Seeing him in the box with Snyder made me wish we could pull him away from Nascar, and back to the Skins as our nee GM.

Hmm....not sure he wants it.

Re: Joe Gibbs for GM.
Think about it - almost anyone would be an upgrade over Bruce Allen & Dan Snyder
if we do not change the way we do things here we are bound to repeat as the 4th placed team in the NFC East
we could add all the greatest players & coaches in the NFL - it will mean nothing, if we do not have a team on the field each & every week
we'll know soon enough ...

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Re: Joe Gibbs for GM.
Gibbs was a great coach -- he was NOT a great GM. He "made" Bethard pick Desmond Howard....we know how that went!
Re: Joe Gibbs for GM.
let's just let these guys have a full draft and things are sure to get better here sooner or later ...
c'mon man, we have tried this before, many, many times and here we are again ...

Shanahan was good at picking players. That seems to be forgotten.

I like to think of him more as the frequent strike out, occasional homerun drafter. Nothing in between.

We're complaining that Bruce Allen isn't known as a great personnel guy/scout, and the suggestion is to bring Gibbs in to be the GM? lol. I know this thread was a little bit tongue in cheek, but you know if Snyder brought Gibbs back as GM fans would be all over it!

Mike Holmgren's recent stint as GM in Cleveland strikes me as a good example that maybe the skills involved in being a good coach don't necessarily translate directly to what's needed as a GM.

It appears that Tom Gamble is no longer good enough for the Eagles. He's several thousand times better than anybody we have in DC.
That's how far behind the rest of the NFL we are. Even Jerry Jones is a better GM than Bruce Allen.
And Joe Gibbs is NOT the answer.

From what I understand ..the fans in Philly believe that Tom Gamble may have been responsible for the team cutting DeSean Jackson.

Don't give Jerruh too much credit. His son saved him from picking Johnny Football last year!!!
Snyder should take note.

Re: Joe Gibbs for GM.
I don't believe Gibbs is the answer. Besides its really painful to watch him being attached to this team while we are as horrible as we are. This team will continue to be horrible until ol' Danny Sny gets off his *** and takes ownership of his poor ownership. He needs to apologize to the fans for terrible seasons, poor decisions year after year, and explain to us why the stadium is usually hallway filled with the opposing teams fans. But most importantly he needs to vet quality coaches that will only accept quality players with good character. (So NO, I wouldn't want Ndamukong Sue) Im all for mean and nasty, but these days, mean and nasty is a 15 yard penalty, ejection, or suspension. You cant help us win sitting at home. Lastly, we need to practice patience. It takes a little time to draft and develop players. It takes a little time for free agents to gel with a team and with a new coaching staff. Sorry for the long post, I might have gotten off topic a lil bit!!

I'll tell you guys one thing. It is really painful flipping through my football news this morning and reading about a lot of other teams interviewing guys for GM. Teams who have been a lot better than we have been.
I just don't understand why Snyder has been so unwilling/unable to address that position.

I think that its difficult for him to find somebody that he can attach to his hip. Vinny was a yes man, and though that is in part what he wants ..I think that he also wants someone that he respects enough to tell him "No" and he will actually listen. That may be why it is so difficult for him to address that position in a way that successful owners would. I would not be surprised if they were to fire Morocco Brown though, especially after the heat that Bruce took in that presser last week.

haha. Good luck with that. I think Morocco Brown is VP of Player Personnel with the Browns these days. We're running out of people to fire!

Indeed - I think it's Scott Campbell who is a decent candidate for firing.

I've read something similar. It was a strange move, if it was down to him. But even so, it's outweighed by many other correct moves in recent years.

Haha - I don't give JJ any credit at all really. To say that he's a better GM than Bruce is a decidedly backhanded compliment!

Good old Gibbs was our best coach ever. But we know he was an average draft guy. Only pick I can remember him making that I liked was the guy on my avatar who was pretty much cant miss.
Yes I know this is tounge in cheek but it aint happening. Gibbs is comfortable where is at now. Nascar....
