Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
Ugh. Santana Moss with the longest play of the day...Santana himself...ten years later and Moss is still the important receiver.
OK, folks: are the Redskins playing against the '85 Bears or the 2014 Rams?

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
So, how's the switch to McCoy looking today?
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Roy Helu has a toe injury. Return is questionable.

Right now, there are a lot of things that are questionable.

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
he apparently had an issue with the back of his neck top of his spine area and was indicating this to Dr Andrews
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
Gruden just said "sprained neck". Sounds ugly.
Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
I hope someone can tell me what is wrong with Jay Gruden - he's standing there the whole game looking like he could give a damn

Did you see Griffin take any of the last snaps? I didn't.

He is lost. And his offensive scheme has long since been exposed

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
RG3 finished out the game - I'm sure we'll hear that he could have done better behind our O line which from what I saw could be classified anywhere from horrible to not too bad today ...

I was a little disappointed not to see more from our HC today - he looked really down ...

Oh god. We're seriously going to start complaining about Gruden's "offensive schemes"???? Give me a freaking break man. We did that crap for four years with Kyle.

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
^ when your offence scores zero... with pro bowl wide out te and rb talent.. yes. Scheme. I dont think this line is built for his passing attack style of offensive scheme. We lack size due to shannys zone blocking build of line- which he used lighter linemen to be more athletic to get to the next level- hence AlFreds better run output. Now we are over matched on the line, despite your crazy notion that they are "good enough", and getting blown up in the backfield! Defensive tackles are nearly taking the handoff from McCoy!!
Alfred Morris was second only to Ap in yards after last year- he had ONE YARD at half time. You tell me whats to blame if not the new offence and coach?
Coach is being stubborn, and refuses to humble himself and accept that he currently doesnt have the pieces to run "HIS" offense. We cant block for a five step drop. He is pointing the finger, about people being professionals, but needs to accept that his system isnt working- and find out why. Robert cant be the scapegoat when he is on the bench!
He is trying to plug square pegs into round holes imo, instead of scheming to the strength of what his players have to offer. Like having a pretty decent 4-3 and trying to plug them into 3-4 just because you like that system.. well news flash you dont have the 3-4 pieces!
Im not advocating we pursue Harbough, but wouldn't be surprised if we do. Gruden has been lack luster not just in what hes fielded all year but has handled some things unfavorably. His biggest knock is to me is ruining Alfreds record setting start (in terms of redskins rbs) with a horrible under performance this year. He deserves more then that.
Its not surprising 3 qbs, 2 of which regarded as pretty goog to possibly hella good, are failing behind this ragged oline. Im not a rocket science major, but I purposed many ways to "help" our piss poor blocking weeks ago- and not much is being done. Just when I think they are using our best blocking back in D young more he disappears for the rest of the game. Our double tight end sets should be one extra lineman and one te... but nope, qb pressure dacks hits ints fumbles is what we get every week

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
So Gruden is to blame even though:
-The QB sucked.
-The QB got sacked 6 times due to a combination of o-line and bad blocking from TE's and RB's.
-The team had a total of 27 rushing yards, 11 from McCoy.
-DJax was out.

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
Not to mention the Rams are a pretty scary defense.
And if Colt McCoy is really just a "decent backup", that does not bode well for those that are still hoping for Griffin to turn it around. Because McCoy is definitely better than Griffin this year.

I don't have any problems with Colt, and I'm glad we got a look at him these past two games. He's pretty clearly a backup though. I know we're going to have a ton of things to address in the offseason, but I'll be bummed if they're still thinking they can use him as a stopgap starter next year.
It will be "fun" to see who gets the start next weekend.

Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
I read a tweet from John Keim that said Cousins would be in the discussion for the starter, "if the coaches were allowed" to make the decision. That does not sound good.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. But damn, what a circus that will be if goes from not dressing to #1.

I wouldn't either. But the "if the coaches are allowed" part is what doesn't sound good.
Re: Skins v. Rams Gameday Thread
Gruden's presser at 3pm should be interesting - I hope Colt is OK to go on Sunday and I have no problem with Cousins playing if Colt cannot ... but ... how do you go from having RG3 as the #2 to putting Kirk in the next week - why was Kirk not the #2?
I could care less who plays QB for the rest of this season ...
the best thing for this franchise is to have Griffin and Gruden back here next season
