B. Mitch: "This Team has Sucked"

Post by riggofan »

Gotta love Brian Mitchell. This three minute video is well worth watching if you want to see a former Redskin saying pretty much everything you'd like to say:

http://www.csnwashington.com/video_cont ... tgame-live

This team has sucked over the last few years, OK? And as a former player, I’m embarrassed to watch this junk, over and over again. And yes, I come on this air and I have to try and be professional and not say what – I wish, let the FCC tell me today, ‘Say what the hell you want to say, Brian.’ And I will call out names and tell them exactly what I feel. Because a lot of guys who want to be big time and talking about what they think and what the media shouldn’t be doing, play some damn football. You sucked on the field today, and you know who you are. I don’t have to say their names. You know who you are.

“But this town, stop expecting greatness [inaudible]. Start demanding greatness. You control what happens on that football team. But too many times we sit there and we kiss this team’s ass, because we see a burgundy and gold person wearing it. What you’ve got to start doing is make the team understand you mean business. I’m going to stop sitting up here and just supporting you at all wills, spending money I probably don’t even have, to make this team feel so good about itself and sit back and do nothing about it but complain. No, make them understand that you are not going to be playing anymore.”

Brian Mitchell always hits the nail on the head. I also wish the FCC would let him say what he wants. Not one person would be spared.

Good job, Brian!

Hey! If fans stop accepting the garbage product, then it might change.

I found out yesterday that FedEx was half-empty, even before Tampa started rolling. I can't imagine how many people won't be there when we play the Rams.

Edit: I guess I can imagine it. And even for the ones that do show up, I think it's time to start wearing the paper bags. I think we've finally become one of those teams.

Ouch:

"They've surrounded [Griffin] with great weapons. I just think it comes down to RGIII. I don't think he can read coverages...He's been in the league three years. If you need six more games to determine if he's going to be your future quarterback, you need a new coach and a new scouting department. I've seen enough. I don't think he fits in the system. I think you have to get rid of him."

Rodney Harrison last night.

If Gruden really wanted to make a statement to the team, he would announce the benching of Griffin today at 3:00 p.m. A part of me wants to see it, just so that can quell the rumors of Allen and/or Snyder being the one making the decisions for Gruden.

The other part to seeing that is you can evaluate the players better. Everyone is in agreement that the rest of the year is "evaluation" mode for the team. What better way to evaluate people like Redd, and the rookie/new linemen? Sure as heck aren't going to be able to evaluate anybody with the quarterback play like yesterday. And I don't blame that loss solely on Griffin, either.

I've been doing this for over a decade. I don't pretend our players are better than they are. I don't legally buy Redskins apparell. I love the team, but can't condone how this franchise is run.

I was recently called a troll by many on this forum for doing exactly what BMitch is saying. I agree with him and stand by it.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Don't worry, more and more fans are finally taking off their burgundy and gold blinders, and are beginning to see just how truly terrible this "team" is. I don't think you'll be accused of trolling anymore.

Did you happen to catch the part where Mitchell said that in 5 out of the last 6 years, the Redskins have started 3-6 in their first nine games? The one year that they didn't start 3-6, they were 4-5. Just one game!

But, I thought RGIII was only in his third year? :hmm:

and, if I didn't, I'm sorry - you are and the only way I see your posts is when someone responds
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Why are so many of you guys butt hurt about being called a "troll"? If you've been called it more than once by more than one person, then there's probably a good chance you've been trolling whether you think so or not.

Troll: "One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument "

Bingo.

In the history of THN, there has never been a troll who didn't think he was just "telling it like it is." They never stop to think that maybe it's the way they say what they say and react to others' disagreement more than the content that riles people up.

FWIW, I don't think markshark is a troll whatsoever. Quite the opposite, actually: he's always bringing arguments and evidence to talk about his POV.

But neither should being called that once or twice by an angry and/or possibly semi-literate poster put a chip on his shoulder. I have been called a dellusional, kool-aid drinking, idiot, etc., etc., etc. It's going to happen to anyone who has strong opinions and expresses them here. Our rules and mods try to prevent personal attacks as much as possible, but there's no way to stop people having an opinion about you. My 2 cents

This line of thinking always makes me chuckle. What does it even mean to say that fans should "stop accepting" the product? How can you quantify or otherwise sum up the individual actions of millions of people?

But that problem aside, how do you know that they aren't rejecting the product? Haven't you seen pics of FedEx field on gameday or browsed ticket prices? Haven't you read the WP or seen the comments on articles there? Do you not read THN?

How anyone could think Redskins fans find the currently situation perfectly acceptable is beyond me.

I guess what I don't understand about this whole troll calling business is that it's only the people who point out the negative aspects of the team who are called trolls, even when what's being stated is true. What about the people who are always optimistic, and some to the point of being ridiculous? Couldn't that be considered a troll? I've been saying for quite some time now that I don't think RG3 is good QB and I don't think he ever will be, and I've been called a troll (and a few other nasty names) for having that opinion. I think for some, they just don't have a logical argument, so they call you a troll...which is kinda like the old jr high comeback "takes one to know one"...

You weren't called a troll for having the opinion that RGIII isn't a good quarterback.

lol. I just think its funny that he's so bent out of shape about being called a troll.

I also love this comment: "it's only the people who point out the negative aspects of the team who are called trolls, even when what's being stated is true.". hah. Probably part of the problem.
