Champ who?

Post by Justice Hog »

How much does this guy think he's worth? He single-handedly beat the Redskins today with his play. Yeah, that 2nd pass-interference call was bogus but come on! He looked like crap today.

Let him go and get another quality CB with a better attitude!

Best CB in the league.

Ask his agent.

I know that he's going to have to rely on his reputation to get the contract that he wants, because in my opinion, his play this season just doesn't justify paying him the kind of money that he is expecting.

Franchise tag = First rounder + at least a 3rd

I think that it's the best we can hope for. Of course, the franchise tag always upsets the player and generally makes bad things happen. So if we franchise him, tender him the appropriate offer and then nobody beats it... we're left holding the bank on a top 5 CB salary with a player that will probably play with as little effect as Champ did today.

Can't we at least shop him to other teams - there are enough people enamoured by him to make him worth something. Sheesh - I hate this system.

He's a FA when the season is done, and the trade deadline has passed. The only way we get something for his inevitable departure is with either the franchise or transitional tag.

The Redskins will just have to hope that someone IS enamored enough with Champ to offer Washington the compensation draft package.

Sounds like our choices are either the Franchise tag and hope someone bites and takes him or cut him, like we did SD?
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.
