ESPN: Dallas' new-look O sputters

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Only a few good points to this game.

Henson was 8-11 for 94 yards 0 td 1 int

Julius Jones rushed for 57 yards on 8 carries
Lee rushed for 25 yards on 4 carries

our line blocked well but penalties and the int's by Henson and our 3rd string qb killed us.

Really? I thought it was scoring 0 points that killed them.

'Joe Texan' told me at the HOF game that the Texans were looking forward to beating up the Cowboys again. He even said that they'd skunk 'em and we both had a good chuckle.

Of course... pre-season don't mean jack.

Good thing...

Funny story. There was a Cowboys fan in camoflauge (wonder why) cheering on the Panthers the whole time.

Then several sections to my right there was a chant growing. Evidently a Dallas fan was in the vicinity and pissed someone off. There's a chant that's ever so increasing. The chant? "Dallas Sucks! Dallas Sucks!" I gladly joined in.

I gave the woman a hard time but she said if she was over there that she would talk trash.

Then, PA announcer Mark Kessler (real idiot by the way. He doesn't know who or what he's talking about), says "In other preseason action... Houston Texans 18 Dallas Cowboys.... ZERO!" The crowd went nuts! THen the chant started again. "Dallas Sucks! Dallas Sucks!" I gladly joined in again. At least that made my night tolerable.

Ahhhhhhhh nothing better then hearing about a stadiun full of morons chanting Dallas Sucks especially when those chants are over a meaningless preseason game!

but of course I wouldn't expect any less from the idiots who go to those games to just cheer and be loud, and make them selves look like fools.

I guess it never occured to there fans that what they were watching was suppose to be there team playing, and that the whole reason for goin to the game was to evaluate how there team looks and not worry bout what else is goin on around the league in preseason action.

so thanx to the many Panthers fans along with the other remaining idiots who joined in that chant for making them selves look ignorant

Useless Tex Turd fans have nothing to hang there hats on as all ways, to avoid the miserable failures of there franchise both past and present.

the only thing they can hang there hat on is beating Dallas, of course beating Dallas accomplishes nothing since it all ways turns into a teams failure at some point.

It's all most like a curse that hits with out warning so it's a joy to see so many take plessure in beating us, but then having to suffer with no reason why they couldn't win a
game after they beat us.

Of course they turned in a 0 because every chance they had to score turned into either a missed field goal, Penalties, INT, or fumble.

that I blame on poor mental mistakes all those penalties last night were uncalled for, and I'm sure Parcells has
alot of ass chewin to give on the ride back to Oxnard after
what he saw last night.

then again it is only preseason and this is the time and the place to get out the kinks work on what didn't work improve on what did, so that the next game you don't have as many of
the same mistakes as you did in the last game

... well as long as you're not too sensitive about it TexasCowboy.

ROTFALMAO

We all know it means nothing... it's pre-season.

The game only meant something to one team... and it showed. You can mock the Texans for their over-inflated sense of importance to such a 'trivial' game but that doesn't take away their continued bragging rights as the best team in Texas.

I like Texan fans, we both have something in common.... we all hate the Dallas Starfish.

Now I can't blame Parcells for being disappointed and angry at the way they played last night, but a few bright spots did come out of the game Henson looked good JJ was a beast
running the ball.

Rashard Lee was turning alot of heads at the way he was running last night as well, George didn't do to bad for the minimal time he was allowed to play.

but as the old saying goes when it rains it pours and things went from bad to worse but all hope is not lost and as Mickey Spagnola wrote

So that the Cowboys left here to return to Oxnard, Calif. with an 18-0 loss to the Texans does not mean the sky is falling.

Continued bragging rights what bragging rights? they are a terrible team they were lucky last year that had the Jags to fall on in there division, or Houston would have finished at dead last again in the AFC South.

**** even the Oilers had better years then the Texans have had so far, Houston is a joke

Come on guys we all know this is preseason. We lost our first preseason game last year and did not score, but we went on to make the playoffs and also beat the Skins 27-0, during the regular season when it counted. In their own home may I add.

Just gotta look at the real bright spots like

1. Henson was 8-11 for 94 yards 0 td 1 int
2. Julius Jones rushed for 57 yards on 8 carries
3. Lee rushed for 25 yards on 4 carries

... except in the red zone and it WAS all against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Definitely looked better than testaverde though... and as a skins fan, i'm definitely watching henson more than Vinny to see which way the crow flies.

JJ was a beast running the ball.

How can anyone going against 3rd stringers almost exclusively be considered beastly? Come on. He looked good, but you won't see me saying 'put Sultan McCullough into the starting lineup' because he's racking up yardage late in games.

Rashard Lee was turning alot of heads at the way he was running last night as well

Yeah all the starters were turning their heads and saying that guy's got a real shot at the practice squad.

George didn't do to bad for the minimal time he was allowed to play.

hey, as a Skin fan, I'm happy as a hog in slop if Eddie keeps putting up those 'not too bad' numbers... 5 carries, 12 yards... ouch. How will we gameplan for 2.4 yards per carry?

agreed they did struggle once inside the redzone but Henson did look alot more impressive then Vinny did last night

well putting him in against 3rd stringers was Parcells idea but non the less he did get a good look at what running backs he does have and what they can do which is the most important.

Yeah all the starters were turning their heads and saying that guy's got a real shot at the practice squad.

Had Lee not been injuried last year IMO he challenges and beats out Hambrick for the starting job, but I think Lee has
a real shot at making third string RB if he continues to run the way he has

hey, as a Skin fan, I'm happy as a hog in slop if Eddie keeps putting up those 'not too bad' numbers... 5 carries, 12 yards... ouch. How will we gameplan for 2.4 yards per carry?

Parcells seen what he wanted in George and pulled him out IMO that 2.4 YPC could easily have been better as time
went on, but that would leave no time to evaluate the
rest of the backs we have George served his purpose for the short time he was in there

... their tails between their legs. Brother... I'm just poking fun... it was a nothing game I know... but try tell that to a Texan fan today... I dare you.

agreed it was a nothing game but as I said before Useless Tex Turd fans are idiots just like there idiot cousins to the East in Filthadelphia, they talk big make promises and watch as it all gets flushed down the toilet.

Texans fans promised Houston would be in the playoffs before Dallas ever made it back there

Last years records

Dallas 10-6 - makes post season

Houston 5-11 fails to make post season

Philly fans have proudly been telling you how they are a super bowl bound team 3 years in a row

end results

2001- lost NFCCG

2002- lost NFCCG

2003- lost NFCCG

now does none of that matter to them? of course not and why is that? because like the typical idiots that they are they only brag about beating Dallas like they have done something
so great.

it's time to face the music beating Dallas isn't getting anything done! your season is still a failure if you fail
win one of these

Image

your entire season doesn't revolve around beating Dallas and if in your opinion it does, then I seriously begin to ? just what kind of fan you really are

chanting Dallas Sucks only makes you look like a moron

losing last night is not goin to make or break the 2004 NFL season! Dallas lost last year to Arizona 13-0 and still went
10-6 and made the post season unexpectedly I might add

so Texans fans can go back now and bury there heads in the sand from which they came from

The Cowboys new "O" sputters, that's for sure. You can also certainly say the same thing about the Redskins new "O", now can't you?

In my eyes, it's preseason. Teams are evaluating 2nd and 3rd string players.

A lot of these players will not likely be the ones wearing their respective uniforms come opening day so, to say that a particular team is bad at this point is somewhat senseless.

Sure, it's fun to talk a little trash...especially against the Cowboys....but let's put this all in perspective shall we?

if anything it's far from the truth if you have been a fan of football for as long as many of the people who post here
have, then you'd know deep down Dallas doesn't suck!

Preseason, it is.
Believe me, Parcells is not gonna go around tipping his hand when Joe Gibbs is back in the league. It is my sincere hope that we have not seen the best that either our Redskins or their Cowboys have to offer. I'd be really ticked off if the Redskin/Cowboy games were 7-3 or 3-0.
