Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

That's just amazing that he has had that same injury three times. WTF???
I assume this means we're going to see a lot more of Trent Murphy?

Yeah and this may be a good thing. Just wished he hadn't got injured. I think that if Trent works out the rest of the year we can spend that 11 mil on 2 FA that can help, and preferred Oline first and Secondary second.

He took a big gamble with his contract and the franchise tag and all of that. I feel bad for him. I think the team would have signed him to a longer term contract at a more moderate price than he was asking.
Gotta give the team some credit for how they handled that too.

HE is a broken down horse. He needs to go to the stud farm.

Have more money to spend elsewhere. Feel bad for him, because he won't get top dollar. But there could be some desperate teams out there.

He's made, I think, about $31 M as a Redskin. Should be sitting pretty.

Re: Orakpo on IR with torn pectoral
RGIII is not so far away from the stud farm himself. Nothing scares me more than drafting players with a history of injuries. Everyone is allowed one injury - they happen. But when people have multiple injuries, it's just like the rain cloud is following them and there's too much invested to just hope they won't get hurt again.
I wish Orakpo the best. I was SO excited when we got him, but the injuries and his lack of development from a one-move hybrid DE/LB has just left him a bit flat. I look forward to seeing what Trent Murphy can do, though I don't expect him to ever have the type of bull rush Orakpo had.

I read somewhere yesterday maybe the team would consider bringing Rob Jackson back in. Anybody heard anything more on that?

Me either. I'm expecting Murph's bull rush to be a better type than the one Rak had.

Yeah, Orakpo didn't really have a bull rush. He was always a get around the end, speed rush kind of guy.

Murph has actually been seeing a lot of double teams when he's been in. They knew they could stop Rak with one guy.

I wonder if we will see Trent start at weak side?

I think I heard Gruden himself say they were going to do some switching based off of matchups between Kerrigan and Trent.

Re: Orakpo on IR with torn pectoral
Ya rak was a one trick pony, whom blockers just hold with the outside arm to prevent him getting around the outside. He RARELY, if ever, used a spin to the inside to beat people; and I wouldnt call it a bull rush what he does like darth and dm have covered.
I think Murphy is a Kerrigan type of player. High motor with a lot of speed and power. . His country bred power should be fun to see more of. Not sure how he looks in coverage, but I doubt its much if any drop off from Rak. He is a rook and will have mistakes (offsides!) so his task will be to limit those- and make some plays where he can. Beating Raks .5 sacks through 7 weeks shouldnt be to difficult imho tho...
*Edited to fix, should actually make some sense now

Seems to be the majority opinion (here and elsewhere).
I appreciate the years Orakpo gave us, but he didn't deserve a long-term contract this past offseason and he's done almost nothing since then to prove the team ought to bring him back. He received top dollar for a "prove it" deal and has just . . . meh.
The FO from several years ago would have already locked him in with a $55 million, five-season deal and then restructured and restructured and restructured over the next four seasons. It's good to feel a little confidence that we'll simply be spending that money elsewhere.

Yep. In fact, it likely would have been for even more money ... something completely insane like 5 and 70 with 25 guaranteed.

Well said. Doesn't make up for 15+ years of horrible FO moves, but you have to give Allen some credit for the approach with Orakpo.
I still think the team regards him as more than just "meh" though. It wouldn't surprise me if the offers aren't there for him in free agency, and he was back next year on a friendlier deal.
