I'm hopeful, but Cousins vs. Chancellor/Thomas is a scary proposition after last week.

I think that the Redskins will play better on Monday night against the Seahawks than they did last Thursday against the Giants. It would be hard to play worse. But the Redskins will still lose -- Seahawks are too good. It will help them that Seattle has a long flight, and Seattle will probably play down to their competition, but the Monday night curse will continue. Maybe something like Seahawks 24 Redskins 20 or thereabouts. A 1-4 record will be upon us soon.

I think we're going to surprise a lot of people on Monday. The Seahawks are not invincible, and we were on our way to beat them in the playoffs in 2012.

Not what I want to read, but I agree its probably the most likely outcome. I really can't remember the last time we played well on one of these late night, national games. It amazes me that they keep giving us MNF games, because they're usually stinkers.

Thanks man. I knew there were some in there. That Thanksgiving game in particular was great.

Not to depress you but take a look at our MNF results over the past decade. Not only have we lost 9 of our last 12 MNF games, but its crazy how many blow out losses we've had.

2004 Dallas Loss 21-18
2005 WIN v Dallas 14-13
2006 Vikings Loss 19-16
2007 WIN v Eagles 20-12
2008 Pittsburgh Loss 23-6
2009 Eagles Loss 27-17
2009 NYG Loss 45-12
2010 Eagles Loss 59-28
2011 Cowboys Loss 16-18
2011 WIN v NYG 16-17
2013 Eagles Loss 33-27
2013 49ers Loss 27-6

I hope this is the one time that we all expect for this to be an embarrassment and, it in fact, turns out to be a great showing and a win. I'm going on record as hoping that Kirk Cousins reignites the QB controversy so many of our fellow (questionable) fans are hoping for by playing lights out. I really do. I. Just. Want. The. Win.

Based on pure talent, I am not sure how we win. SEA's offense is a BAD matchup for our D. They don't turn the ball over. Wilson completes 70% of his passes and can evade pressure -- creating more time to make a pass against one of the worst 2ndarys in the NFL. While their WRs aren't the best in the NFL, they are fast and compliment the offensive scheme. Our DEF has had issues this year defending short quick passing routes. SEA also has Lynch, who IMHO is one of the best 3 RBs in the league. Although SEA is 14th in OFF yards/game, they are 5th in pts/game --- which means their DEF puts them in good field position and they take advantage of it. Our LBs will have to have an incredible game. SEA is also coming off a bye.....

The positive is that it's being played in DC, and SEA is a MUCH better home team. If Cousins plays at least as well as he did against JAC or PHI, he will keep us in the game. SEA has the 2nd best run DEF in the NFL. While Morris is a top 3 RB, we won't be able to rely on him individuallly. We'll need Cousins to play well and for Jackson and Garcon to get open. If that happens, things will open up for Morris.

Honstly, I'm not expecting much out of this game. I am particularly intersted to see how Cousins does against the SEA D.

All in all, SEA is superior but on any given sunday (or in this case, Monday) anything can happen!

No, no. I agree. The only chance we have is for the "what the hell happened to SEA" game to be this one. Oh, and, we also have a perfect combination of Jacksonville game defense and PHI game (1st half only) offense for the whole game.

We're going to lose.

we saw our team get exposed for sure but maybe we thought this group was a lot better than it really was

let's see what we're made of - these next few games will be a good test of character
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'm sure there is some truth to that. But I still think its shocking that the team we say play one hell of a game vs. the Eagles looked as bad as they did just a few days later vs. the Giants.

I was hoping for better than we saw, for sure - I think that we were a lot more beat up than we thought and our lack of depth was severely exposed

until the bye week is going to be critical for these coaches - they have to make the needed adjustments

win or lose these next 2 games - this team needs to show that it is better than we saw last Thursday
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

Given that Seattle has knocked us out of the playoffs the last three times we've gone, and given how obnoxious their players and fans have been about their success, this would be one of those victories I would really savor.

And given how awful most of our prime-time performances have been over the last half-dozen years, it would also be a nice change of pace.

At least we are at home and don't have to hear the announcers and sideline reporters go on and on about how loud it is.

I also hate that every broadcast featuring the Seahawks feels obligated to use grunge for their transitions to and from commercials.

Lots to be grumpy about with Seattle. I don't foresee the upset, but man would it be sweet. It could probably sustain me through another 3-13 season regardless of what happens in the rest of our NFC East games.

I'm not sure the Redskins can be embarrassed any more than they were against New York and Houston. it just seems that our offense had disappeared. Where is Morris, the receivers? Where is this vertical offense that was so touted in pre-season. At this rate, the year end will be worst than 3 - 13.

I know it is a lot to ask but, can we play one game this season mistake free or close to it? Any game can be won. Who know? Skins might come out swinging.

God, I hope so... It's the first game that I will be at in over 20 years... a respectable showing would be really nice.

Can guarantee thats on the team and players mind. They are going to give full effort to prepare for the game with their (short bye) 10 days off Thur-following Mon. Jay doesn't want to get embarrassed again. The way this year is going I'd be pleased with seeing a "good game"

Agree with all of that. The negative side to the highlighted sentence is that, because they won the SB, SEA fans will be coming out of the woodwork, and since we are coming off such a huge loss, I expect there to be a substantial SEA contingent in the stands Monday night.

We actually matchup quite well with the Seahawks, because our run defense seems good but our pass D is atrocious, and the Seahawks run the ball much better than they pass it. I also think Cousins did so well in the Eagles game he got way overconfident and thought he could throw anything in any coverage in the Giants game. I think he bounces back with a solid game.
