He threw 7 in two playoff games. That's a stat too.

AND he got his team to the playoffs is another stat ...

Redskins 24 Eagles 20
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Some fans want to point to the 2012 season and act like Griffin got us into the playoffs that year alone.

Yes, that's sad.

In hindsight, I blame just about every loss last year on Shanahan.

I'm like 60/40 Mara/Shanahan. :)

The scariest thing about Philly is Sproles and McCoy. Foles and the WR core has looked quite bad this year, but wow are those RBs athletic. If we have a good game plan and focus on containing McCoy and Sproles I think we can do well, but we can't miss tackles.

Agreed. It seems like most of their big runs are off missed tackles. Seems like we look better there, but we have to do it on Sunday. Wrap up!

C00ley was saying on the radio that this defense is scary good. He analyzed the tape on Wednesday (on the defense) and said that there was close to nothing that they did wrong. He graded them a 10/10. He also says this defense is on it's way to becoming one of the best in the NFL. That's very promising. Foles is NOT that good as the Philly fans think, and if pressured, we can easily win this game.

Pump the brakes a little gentlemen. I am one of the few that thought our D would be vastly improved this year, but we opened up against 1 well below average offense, and 1 offense which is barely ahead of high school level. We are in for a test on Sunday. I think we will answer the bell and be happy with our D's performance, but we will be giving up more than 10 ponts.

That's crazy!

Grant and Danny were talking about the defense on 106.7 this morning too giving them a lot of love. Their question was: do you believe in this D or did they just play well against two mediocre offenses? Personally I think Hatcher, Robinson and Amerson have really improved the weak areas from last year. Its hard for me to judge Ryan Clark to date. Any thoughts on him?

We'll definitely find out if they're real or not v. Philly this weekend. I think Philly is going to get theirs on Sunday no matter how good we are on defense. Its a good offense and McCoy is always going to do some damage. I'm just hoping we can limit him and cause Foles to make some mistakes.

I'm with you on pumping the brakes, but we do have a point of comparison. Look at what the Eagles defense did v. the Jags:

Sacked Henne 3 times for -24 yards. Held them to 242 passing yards, 64 rushing yards, 1 fumble, allowed 2 passing TDs from Henne. Allowed 30 mins time of possession.

Redskins v. the same team one week later:

Sacked Henne 10 times for -70 yards. Held them to 123 passing yards, 25 rushing yards, 1 INT, allowed 1 passing TD. Allowed 20 mins time of possession.

You gotta admit its pretty impressive. Maybe the defense just had the game of their lives that weekend, but at the least I'm optimistic they've improved from last year.

Well Czaban was telling C00ley to pump the brakes too, but C00ley was adamant that this defense is going to be "scary" this year. I'm more inclined to believe him over Czaban.

Well considering for two decades we have found ways to lose games like last week, I am going to be happy about it. So there.

Man, if you sat through all 16 games last season you freaking DESERVE to enjoy that win. I don't care how bad the Jaguars are.

Agreed. Especially since this team has made a habit over the past decade of losing to the teams they're "supposed to beat" (i.e. the winless lions a few seasons ago). I thoroughly enjoyed the shellacking we put on the Jaguars. Hopefully a convincing full team win will give them a little more confidence going into Philly.

Back to back division games followed by the Seahawks and Cardinals. This teams mettle will be tested. Let's see what they've got! HTTR!

Not to mention that we will have Merriwether at safety rather than Rambo. I doubt we give up that TD pass with Brandon back there.

+1 - it would be great to take these next 2 games but it's just as important for this team to keep playing well

we have not been consistently good for a while - it looks like this team, even with the depth issue, is becoming a consistently good team

I know that many here could care less if we play badly and win - I do - we need to keep getting better - it will take time

I want to win but it's just as important to see this team play well as we get it together here again after last season and especially the BS that Mara & Goodell forced on us
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
