The guy threw for 276 yards. No INTs. 29/37 completed passes. Why does anybody need to "give him a pass" for that performance? It wasn't a light's out, Peyton Manning day. But I think you could ride a day like that + a solid day from Alfred Morris into a win most Sundays.

I agree though that he needs to do better next week if he wants THE TEAM to be successful. We need him to be more than a game manager. Need him to be a game changer.

We also need Rambo to learn how to tackle, Helu how to block on ST, Paul how to hold on to a football when he is barely touched, Polumbus and Chester how to be something besides a turnstyle. Rob did his job, it you don't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

Jay Gruden would disagree with you, somewhat.

In addition to shouldering the blame for the loss, he said this: "I think he did some good things, there’s no question about it. But overall, when you’re grading your quarterback and you get a loss, you don’t get a very good grade. The quarterback’s responsible for us to get in the end zone and we got six points, so the play caller and the quarterback will get most of the criticism, as will the receivers, but we have to protect the football. He did some great things at quarterback. You go 26 for 31 in the NFL, that’s not easy. A lot of them were short passes, I understand that. I think it’s a good building block for him moving forward to Jacksonville."

He's not a bust, and there's no proof at all that he can't and won't get better in his game. But then again, he needs to do better than he did week 1 if he wants to be successful. There are things he can (and I'm sure he will) work on to get better. That game reminded me of the John Beck era game against the 49ers in 2011.

Will you change yours when we're not? Doubt it.

There's always the chance he'll "come around", but the way things look right now, I highly doubt it...
