How do you figure?
Thanks for the laugh. Now that I calmed down and didn't kick the TV (thank GOD I don't have a dog) I can now turn the page and go on with life. It's just a silly game and I need to stop getting wrapped up in this stuff. FIDO oh Fido!!!! Come here boy...
I think the point is that it's easy to see why you don't count last year, but how do you possibly not count his rookie year? He played the whole season, won the division, set all kinds of records, how do you possibly not count that one?
Hail to the Redskins!

ftr Griffin was drafted in 2012 - it's obviously his 3rd season - this is the first season that he's being coached to play differently
he has not previously been coached to read defenses like he is now and he's learning to stay in the pocket longer ...
Griffin will learn to become a good NFL QB but unfortunately the last 2 seasons were not good for him
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

true dat - I'm just frustrated - I was hoping to see a better performance
I will say that Sean and Jay had better figure out how to better use this kid because he did not look like he was having fun playing QB
there has to be a way to utilize his talents better ... even behind this O line

+1 and I can't speak for Deadskins but I believe he was making making light of the situation. Most of us know what you meant. Sometimes we forget that you are not really from here too. That does make a diffrence when dealing with people and humor. Check your PM in a few
Yeah, Skinsjock used to play Australian rules. They don't wear a bunch of pads or helmets. Bodies collide and bones break. It is a sport our children don't play. They don't spear each other either but you should watch some of it.
Is he an Aussie?! I assume u r describing rugby.. and that ish live is nuts. Our state team is feared not because they are any good just extremly crazy and sacrifice body and limb every play! Lmao

Lol...Try watching semi pro Mexican soccer. Talk about givin the business... Pheww... Those guys are like watching arena fighting. Makes hokey look like a passive sport.
Griffen is obviously going to need patience from us fans and the coaches. He was a stud in college and his rookie year; he is capable of excelling. Lets see how he does in the pocket and still use his legs, but less. If the oline improves then he will improve.

Sorry, I'm no longer in the pro-RG3 camp. To me, he looked exactly the same in the Houston game as he did last year, which to say is bad. If the offensive play calling is not going to use RG3's running ability, or if he no longer has the running ability, then the team would be better off starting Cousins...it's probably going to take some people a long time to realize, and accept that RG3 is a bust...let's hope for the team's sake the coaching staff realizes this before the season is a bust also...

People really need to stop doing two things: calling Griffin a bust, and giving him passes. There needs to be a middle ground. He's not a bust, and there's no proof at all that he can't and won't get better in his game. But then again, he needs to do better than he did week 1 if he wants to be successful. There are things he can (and I'm sure he will) work on to get better. That game reminded me of the John Beck era game against the 49ers in 2011.

The guy threw for 276 yards. No INTs. 29/37 completed passes. Why does anybody need to "give him a pass" for that performance? It wasn't a light's out, Peyton Manning day. But I think you could ride a day like that + a solid day from Alfred Morris into a win most Sundays.
I agree though that he needs to do better next week if he wants THE TEAM to be successful. We need him to be more than a game manager. Need him to be a game changer.

THIS - I'm here too - I don't "give him a pass" - he needs to be better
I'm a supporter and I believe he has the ability to be better ... but he better start showing that during the games

And was responsible for one of the fumbles in the red zone. And didn't step up in the pocket and instead took a sack for a loss. And waited too long to throw the ball to Roberts, forcing him to go closer out of bounds. And held the ball too long on several downs. See? It wasn't a good day for him. How did Morris not have a solid day against Houston? He had 91 yards on 14 carries, and we still lost. Griffin needs to play better. Yes so does our offense as a whole, but that doesn't absolve Griffin from certain things he himself could have done better against Houston to help us win. But those stats he put up were good in terms of his completion percentage, and his lack of missed throws. But watching the game I just kept thinking they were using him not to win the game, but instead just having him go out there NOT to lose the game. A game manager.
FLWSkin wrote:Roberts was in bounds, the refs blew that one. Big turning point in the game.
Yes Roberts was definitely in, I agree. But others who were at the game have said Roberts was waving his hands in the air 5 seconds prior to the throw, practically in the middle of the field. It would have been an easy touchdown had he thrown it sooner, from what I've heard.

I don't know why you keep putting words in my mouth. I didn't say anywhere that Morris didn't have a good day. He ran really well. My point was that most days if you can get a solid day like that from Morris + a 276 yd no INT game from your QB, you should have a chance to win. The reason we WEREN'T in position to win was because of the freaking fumbles. As I've stated and restated a dozen times now.
And yes, RGIII was involved in one of those fumbles. So was Alfred Morris. If you watched the play, it was just a freak unlucky play that happens sometimes. oh well.
Anyway, you're just debating with yourself at this point man. I totally agree RGIII can and needs to play better. And I completely agree that we need him to be more than a game manager. Yes, yes, yes.

Relax man, I'm not trying to argue or debate with you. I know you didn't say Morris didn't have a good day, but you did say with the numbers Griffin produced, we should have won. We did not. I wouldn't put everything on those fumbles. Yes they did suck, but we only managed to get into the red zone 3 freakin' times. That was the most frustrating part about this game for me.
I posted this in another thread - it's probably more pertinent here ...
there has never been a question about Griffin needing time to become a more complete QB and learning to both read defenses and to utilize the pocket - he's only had this past off season to make the transition from the type of QB he was to the type of QB that Sean and Jay think he needs to be - Griffin will get there but it will take time and it's a little more difficult in that the O line is not that great
I was a little disappointed that he was not further along in this but I am looking forward to the time that he's doing all the things that Sean and Jay want him to and is better able to utilize his head, his arm and his speed
I look for Griffin to become a really great QB - I cannot remember a really good QB that can run a 4.3 40
it is going to take time but it's also going to take time to bring in the offensive linemen and have them become a good unit for him
it's the Redskins' refrain ... "wait until next year"
HOPEFULLY Griffin shows more 'progress' this week

I know, lets dissect every play so we can find a reason to pass blame..
He did enough to win. The TEAM did not. If we can get off the "blame the qb" trip for a sec and shake your head at blocked xp and punt tds.. and maybe you will feel a little better with what actually took place on O. He actually played a Russell Wilson esq game managed well limited mistakes- only gave watt one sack- even if YOU choose to blame him for the Alfred Fumbled handoff- ironically titled "Alfred Morris fumble" on nfl network- he gave us a chance to win... and thats all I expect him to do against a stout Defense. When he has a break out game we can celebrate it but we cant knock him for the solid performance games that lack top ten highlights.
