Hognostications 2014-2015

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostications 2014-2015

Post by DarthMonk »

You are invited to join Hognostications, our pool on THN for picking winners during the regular season. To accept this invitation and join the pool, click the link below (or cut and paste the link into your browser's address bar). You'll be asked to enter the pool password before you can join, so it is posted below.

http://abtc.football.cbssports.com/e?ttag=FFB14_cbsinv

Our Pool password is: Hail

A few notes:

We pick the winner of every game every week.

We do not use point spreads.

The deadline for picks each week is ...

Five Minutes Before Days First Game - Games for each day will lock five minutes before the scheduled start of the day's first game. For example, if there is a Thursday night game and a member did not make a selection, they would still be able to make selections for the remaining games. Please note - pool member's selections will only be displayed in the "View All" picks section for games that have locked.

We predict the total number of points scored on MNF. If there is more than one Monday night game, CBS will tell you which one to use for points.

The weekly winner is the Hognosticator with the most correct picks that week. The MNF score breaks ties. There is no penalty for going over the total points scored.

If you accidentally blow it and forget to make your picks, you get the score of the week's worst Hognosticator minus 1.

The winner for the year is the Hognosticator with the highest total of correct picks. The first tie break is most weekly wins. The next tie break is smallest average percent deviation from the actual MNF scores.

The Deadman runs a separate playoff pool after the regular season champ is crowned.

Though there is no strict rule prohibiting the picking of a Redskin opponent, the practice is highly frowned upon. Doing so is very bad form and the scum bag who does so is referred to as a Hognostitraitor.

NO HOGNOSTITRAITOR HAS EVER WON HOGNOSTICATIONS FOR THE YEAR.

Darth, I'm impressed. Two Hog Bowls and two Championships in 3 years? Dang man - you are to Hognostications what the SEC is to college football. That's it - this year I am figuring out some way to cheat...

It helps if you run the game... Unfortunately, DM already thought of that...

Well, isn't that peachy. Maybe the two of us 'trey can come up with an even bigger spinny wheel thingie so Darth misses a couple weeks this coming season. Heck, it worked so well on me I forgot to make picks, or posts, or dinner for the missus....I mean that thing was good.

Funny.

For the record I only ran it last year. Things were looking bad it looked like it wasn't even going to happen. I'd be more than happy to give up the commissioner's job.

In the meantime I'm going to pick my ass off and try to kick all your butts again.

Happy Hognostcating!!

Good luck, but as for me, I'm enjoying retirement...

all the best to you guys - I'm going to take a break ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Me too but that was a lot of work for someone who, understandably, can't do it anymore.

We can still talk a little smack though so ...

GOOD LUCK SUCKAS !!

Maybe someone (^^^^^^) should post each week's results in this thread. Then we can continue to ridicule SkinsJock, so he will feel at ease with the format.

What? You said you were taking a break, because you missed the jibing. I offered a solution, and at the same time made a jibe at your expense. Then you said you had reconsidered taking the break until you read my jibe. I then said it seemed you didn't really miss the jibing. I don't see how you can put that down to my not being over being robbed of a co-championship five or six years ago. :hmm:

That sounds like the "he" refers to me. It refers to SJ of course, 'cause he's a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, inside a snake eating it's own tail. :P
