I agree. I thought the ball hit the ground, and I think it bobbled a bit during the catch. They didn't help by not showing it with a better angle.

Merriweather hit the guy with his shoulder and yes their heads hit. Wasn't his intent.

Merriweather has a Fatwa on his head for those kinds of hits so he will get flagged 10/10.

Robert is making stupid, stupid decisions. Just stupid. Rather than throw it away earlier, he ran out of bounds for a five yard loss. And now, he throws hard to a short receiver with two men on him. Just plain stupid decisions.

With all due respect, IMO RGIII hasn't a clue of what he is doing.

It's not an opinion. He's been looking clueless for most of the preseason.

Ya he is thinking to much instead of reacting... thinking about getting out and protecting himself, resulting in a stupid loss ob. I was shaking my head at that one too.
Even worse that int pass was to a rb who rarely sees passes let alone a short bullet like that

Luckily that play holds up... our longest play of the night being negated by a hold on our best lineman :/

Cousins is MUCH BETTER in Gruden's offense than Griffin it not even close, nice drive.

Kirk, to me, looks like the better QB overall. I'm not sure that makes him a good QB in the NFL, but it makes him a better NFL QB than Griffin! The earlier comment of him being better suited to Gruden's offensive scheme may be a better assessment.

RGIII needs to get his act together sooner than later, this is awful. Just looking at the decision making process, RGIII has a long way to go (to become a franchise QB) and a short time to get there.

We have to keep in mind that Cousins was more NFL-ready when coming out of college, being a starter during most of his collegiate career, while Griffin was a late bloomer who caught lighting in a bottle.

Let's also not forget that this is preseason, and these are all second-string players right now. We can make a better judgement of Griffin in November.

True. Wonder if Robert would be doing better against the 2nd string. Its just his decision making that isn't as good compared to his rookie year

The decision making process is on Robert, does it matter 1st string or 2nd string?

Yeah thats what I was thinking when I compared 1st and 2nd. Honestly idk maybe things will be more open and less pressure. Still...

We might as well ask if Cousins would be doing better against the Ravens' first-string defense. I say no.

Yeah, Robert has been looking nervous in the pocket ever since his injury. But this is why we brought in Jay Gruden, who can put together plays where Rob should always have somewhere to go with the ball, cutting down on some of the decision making.

I believe if the Skins decided to let Cousins compete with Griffin for the job running Gruden's offense Kirk would win it decisively. If the Skins want to continue starting Griffin they better let him take his chances running because he is not an NFL caliber pocket quarterback.

Yes and maybe too early to tell on his progression in the pocket, decision making and running. Its only been a month of intense training. After a few games, it will truly show whats up

I agree with everything here. It's going to be difficult or even impossible to break him from running, and change him into a true pocket QB. That's just not who he is. We knew this when we got him. It is kind of a shame that there isn't a QB competition. I understand that the media would have a field day if we sit Rob (look at last year), but I just want Gruden to choose whichever QB gives us the best chance to win, even if it's Colt McCoy.

Btw, when did we get new avatars? Gonna rock this Orakpo one! :D
