Tim Hasselback..........

Is it just me, or does Tim Hasselbeck look like a young, skinny Joe Theismann on the field. I mean, he does those controlled rollouts and drops way back in the pocket. For a while at least, he looked like Joe Theismann back there.

Its not just you, I think he looks like Joe also, I know he sure looked good last night, Although it wasnt the first string defense in there for Denver. HTTR

That's Gibbs for ya. A rollout is great for a semi mobile/mobile quarterback, and it helps with the pressure. Used to wonder why over the last 12 years it disappeared, especially when our line was struggling. Gibbs will use the talents he has to once again "protect" his quarterback. Love it!!!

I"m sure most of you know about my hatred for Hasselback. Now, I'm not here to start something up or anything. My point has already been made in the past. But I must say that he looked darn good in that game. Heck, if he can keep on looking like that throughout the preseason your gonna here me say it......"We should keep Hasselback, he's a good quarterback especially as the number three".

I thought the same thing, although Theismann had a stronger arm...or, at least, so says my foggy memory. But the best thing about Joe T was his quick-thinking. Tim H. (I'll have to practice spelling his last name, I guess) seems to have it...game sense, quick reactions.

Right, he played against a third string defense, but he played with a third-string offense. The OL hasn't meshed yet, so we saw no more than Gibbs building up the foundations of his offense.

I've been bragging about the Skins forever today everyone wanted to know why I hadn't told them we picked up Matt Hasselbeck and wondered why Seattle let him go.... most of them had forgot he finnished the season for us last year

I don't know if he looked like Joey T last night but I know he looked GOOD

Hasselback was the only QB that looked like he knew what was going on, Now I can see why his name keeps coming up by the coaches..Hes going to be a great QB some day..Maybe sooner then later, if ramsey and brunnel kept playing like last night..

Tim looked good in TC, not sure he'll compete for a starting job. Gibran is a fan favorite, and has a live arm!! Do we shop Tim???

Just thinking that Tim is better than some starters in the league Miami and SD (with Rivers holding out) come to mind... That team is Teaxs also but I'd rather see him sit than go there

Gus Frerotte, anyone ? As long as there is a huge "underdog" cloud hanging over Hasselbeck, you can expect that he will find a way to shine. Make him the starter, and you're looking for trouble.
No, let's keep him at #3. The pedigree just isn't there for a larger investment.

I really like Hasselbeck. He needs to get on a team that can develope a quality QB. I think that he could make waves in Green Bay. Learning under Favre. He could also do some things in Chicago. I think that with the new guy(forgot his name). He could step up to the plate and probably do some good things.

Didn't they already try a Hasselbeck experiment in Green Bay? I doubt they'd want to go through that again. Until I see Gibran get some PT during the preseason (too see how he's progressed), I'll hold off on suggesting which one to trade.

Redskins Rule, what's your beef with Tim Hasselbeck? Just curious.

I graduated from Boston College with him (although I didn't know him or anything) so I saw him play a lot. He doesn't have the strongest arm but he is smart and was a helluva lot better in college than his older brother, who is currently making waves in Seattle.

I hope they hold onto him at #3 at least through this season. If Brunell gets hurt bad, we need a worthy second for Ramsey and some competition for him as well. Plus, he's cheap. If Brunell and Ramsey went down, God forbid, we don't want to have to further ruin our salary situation by having to go out and sign Quincy Carter

I think it's great that Joe Gibbs is playing him up as well, it'll light a spark under Brunell and Ramsey to get their acts together. Of course, Madden and Co. were speculating on Monday night that that might be the exact reason why Coach Gibbs is playing him up. Either way, I hope it works.

How in the world can you say he's not better than Feeley??? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Feeley a third stringer as well until he signed with Miami? I don't remember the Eagles being known for stockpiling great QBs deep into their depth chart. Not to mention (again, correct me if I'm wrong), but I think Tim's started more games than Feeley as well.
Smart player that gets the job done is what I saw Monday night. Somebody earlier in this thread made mention that it was Denver's third string D, and that he probably couldn't do that against 1st stringers. Hmmmm...Didn't he play against 1st stringers last season with only one awful game (Dallas)? I thought that he did quite well last year considering he was picked up mid-season with just a basic playbook to use. This time around he's got starts under his belt with the same playbook as Ramsey and Brunell. I'm not saying to start him or anything, but a fine player in his own rite.
TC, I have to disagree. How can you say he doesn't have the pedigree? I KNOW his brother is a bonefide starter in the NFL and his Dad was a NFL starter too. Sounds like a decent pedigree if you ask me. ;-)

Tim looked to have a better grip of the system than the others. Ramsey looked uptight, hope he learns to loosen up a bit more before jumping in there. Brunell looked OK, but that was a weird rollout to the right in the endzone, WHEN THE DUDE IS A LEFTY!

As for the Packers - yeah, that's a good team in the making. Pretty solid lineup... we'll see what happens - the Skins come off a bye week before taking on the Pack IN D.C. - better not chalk it up to a W for GB just yet...
