There's really not much to say for either Grossman or McCoy as the #2 here - I'd guess McCoy might suit what these guys want better than Grossman

I just do not think that McCoy was brought in as anything more than a QB that they'd like to have here as another arm for now

McCoy will not be the #2 QB for long if in fact they trade Cousins

I doubt that we're going to get a high enough pick for Cousins but there are still some FO guys out there that might do something stupid - My 2 cents
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I can buy that argument with Grossman. He definitely had some value while Kyle was here, and I thought he was a good guy to bring off the bench if we needed. Not sure that is the case in a new system with Gruden.

I don't know. He has real game experience, so its not like he doesn't have value as a backup. He also backed up Kaepernick all of last year as the #2 QB, so again, there's no reason to think he couldn't do that here.

Then again, the 49ers traded for Blaine Gabbert to replace him. That sort of blows my mind. :)

I haven't seen enough of McCoy to rate him, but Grossman would no longer be in Kyle's system, so that would set him back a bit. Still, Rex has enough experience to probably pick up the system quicker than Colt, but Colt is probably more atheletic and has a stronger arm. It's a toss up.

Ehhh if it wasnt for Grossmans boneheadedness I would rather have him. Grossman has a far better arm but not as athletic as Mccoy. Also Mccoy can see the field he just cant make the throws necessary. Mccoy has one of the weakest arms as far as QBs go. Grossman has the arm but is just a bonehead in the most critical moments. So yeah its a toss up.

One has all the physical attributes but just does not have it upstairs(Grossman). The other has it upstairs but does not possess the prototypical physical attributes of a QB(Mccoy).

Which is why we are fortunate to have two QBs RG3 and Kirk who have everything you would want in a QB. Well most everything.
RG3 is maybe the most athletic QB of all time with a cannon. Kirk also has a cannon and is very athletic. Both RG3 and Kirk under the right tutelage can be great QBs.
