Great signing! I think he will help our young Defensive Backs. We lost Fletcher as a leader, but brought in a new one!

I don’t know that the acquisition of Jackson would entirely eliminate the need for a wide receiver. The team still could use a bigger target on the outside. Jackson isn’t that. But if they get the deal done, it gives them more flexibility. The best-player-available route certainly becomes more possible.

I would like a tall fast WR too, but how many WRs do you keep on the team? The top three are set. Hankerson, Moss, Aldrick and whoever else they bring in would be competing for 2 or 3 spots. Now can you find room for a rookie WR - sure! However, you can use your 2nd or 3rd round pick on one, because you would expect those guys to play a lot and any rookie WR would only see the field due to injury.

With that said, you have to trust your draft board, go BPA, in areas of need, but if a Mike Evans falls to you you would have to consider it.

Five or six at most, right? I don't really see the numbers as being a reason you couldn't draft a WR. If somebody really good is available with the 2d or 3d round pick, would you pass on him because we have Hankerson or Moss on the roster right now? Definitely not.

Exactly. And don't get me wrong, my point isn't that I think this is definitely what the team should do. I just think people are wrong to think that DJAX makes it completely unlikely or unnecessary to draft a WR early if a strong enough guy is available. Whatever position we draft, not having to bank on starting that rookie on day one is a plus for the player IMO.

We have a lot positions we can upgrade or add depth. I'm pretty happy with this off season that they should be able to grab the best player on their board.

PLUS - the FO knows that 100-125 free agents are going to be available in 2015 because of all the 1 year contracts that have recently been put together

these guys know they have a lot of work to do in rebuilding a 3-13 franchise - they are V aware it will take more than a few good players to get the quality depth we need

Clark will provide leadership and is a definite upgrade for the secondary, but he's just a short term deal for us
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Report is that Clark's contract is a one-year, $1m deal. Skins got good value for their money, I think.

Well, as I said, I'd pay him that much just to mentor Rambo and Thomas for a year or two - never mind play as well! Great deal for the team.

Right on man! Clark is a high character guy, and a UFA who had to work hard for all of his success. Those guys can definitely learn something from him. I'm sure he's lost a step over the past few years, but I'll be shocked if he's not an upgrade over our safety mess from last year.

Clark has the experience. I am hoping he can come in and captain this defense. Usually youd prefer a MLB being the leader. But I suspect it might be Clark. Or whoever can step up into the role. We have Kerrigan and Orakpo but I feel a Vet like clark who has a SB ring can help change the culture of this defense.

This signing may be the most important. I like how he has the Steeler defense mind set. I have a very good feeling about this. Great news.
