Sorry if this was already posted (didn't notice a thread for it).

IF true, I was shocked, but then laughed & thought:

Why would you not? That could be the difference in signing a FA or not. Is the decision final, or can the team change it's mind?

From what I've seen, from tweets and the like (check Rich Tandler), this entire story is bull spit. In fact, it seems as though we were a few thousand, <100, over the cap last year. Sorry, over the made up cap number of Full Cap - $18 million.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Yeah... I've looked all over and can't find anything to verify this claim... i think you're right...

BTW, as of this time, it looks like the team has 18.6 M in space going into FA...

Reports (including John Keim) are that it's not true.

Sorry for the wasted thread. I should have been a little more prepared for the rumors just before FA broke out.

I saw this as well after the fact. Thanks everyone for debunking it.

We actually went over the 13 cap because of incentives, which reduces our 14 cap...

I'm not jumping in your shorts, but just feel obligated to bring this up every single opportunity I can:

We went over the 13 cap because we got mugged for 18 million dollars off the top of it after getting mugged for a ;furious; ing ADDITIONAL $18 million in 12. That is the BIGGEST reason for many (most?) of our current problems in my opinion.
