Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
Hopefully these guys continue the good work - we don't need a few 'stars' - we need a bunch of guys who can play

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
Well, let's hope this guy doesn't turn out to be Josh Morgan 2.0 (or should I say Brandon Lloyd 3.0?). I don't know much about him except what I've read in the last 24 hours, and the consensus seems to be he brings good value and was generally underrated. Of course, that was the same kind of thing we heard when we brought Morgan in, so who knows.
Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
I like this signing, Roberts is quick slot type of reciever. It makes me wonder if Santana Moss might be finished here.

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
Well, it originally occurred to me that he was a replacement for J. Morgan as a number 2 receiver. If it also means that S. Moss is gone, should Roberts work out it would be replacing 2 with 1. I have no idea if I think that is a good thing, but it seems to be one.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
I do think that Santana might be done but if he wants it badly enough I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the roster
that's the key here - we're a'wishing and a'hoping for another year or so ...
I am encouraged by having a HC in J Gruden, that will look to his assistants a lot more than Mike did but we still have a lot of holes to fill and then it will take time to have the players learning how to adapt to the new surroundings and coaching styles
I would not be surprised to see a lot of players added that are 'under-rated' like this guy - we have a lot of holes to fill

Yeah this is more likely the new Sanatana Moss than the new Josh Morgan, right?

I still want a taller WR. He's a risk but I want them to give K. Britt a one year deal.

agreed - it would seem that Roberts will take the job away from Moss - not sure if Morgan makes the roster either
I do agree that it would be nice to have a taller WR but that is more of a 'luxury' than a must have player

Lemme rephrase. We still need a legit #2. Roberts MIGHT be that, he might grow into that. But we need someone that we know can be a #2, if he's tall that'd be great too. Britt, Roberts, Garcon and Reed... That'd be a legit group.

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
Roberts also has return experience. He also has blazing fast speed, but so does A. Robinson.
We`ll probably draft a taller WR.

Roberts is a nice signing. You might be able to get Britt on the cheap, but I would be a little leery of signing him. He seems like he will never out grow his punk status.

Okay - point taken - I agree, there's work to be done - Roberts is young and should provide more upside but he's not a 'legit #2' - yet

Man I totally agree, but Britt makes me nervous. Great size and you see a former first round pick with a lot of unfulfilled potential. But then there are the injuries, arrests off the field issues. Ugh.

Seems to me that it looks like Garcon is the 1 Roberts is the 2, now who do we have as the slot receiver? Robinson is fast but isn't that dependable catching the ball. We also need to get another LB and a CB........

One thing you can say about Roberts is that he is a graduate of The Citadel and that carries with it a background of discipline and training. With Britt you are bringing in someone who is known to be carrying some "baggage" with him. Time will tell if the move pays off. And, there are still a lot of other holes to fill. It will be interesting to see else who the Skins target to fill those holes throughout the days of FA to come.

I believe Moss is a goner, he couldn't catch last year and has lost 5 steps. Too old, now, loved him but it's time to cut bait. Sentiments don't win games. Watching Moss struggle last year was enough........

I think Robinson did better in the slot than he did opposite of Garcon. Unless my memory is just making me see things that didn't happen lol. I recall him catching a lot more short route passes than he did in 2012. He improved, but I'm not sold on him.
When Hank was healthy, was he lined up opposite of Garcon mostly, or did we use him in the slot often?
Its hard to give up on Robinson & Hank after all this "development" and "break out" talk we've had for so long about them. Sucks because Robinson has rare speed, & Hank has good size.

Hank took over at starter next to Garcon after a few games. Issue with him is that he didn't heal correctly and the last report I saw was that he wouldn't be available to begin practicing until late July/August which is extremely difficult for a WR who needs to learn a new system and was already considered a fringe player. My guess is that he may enter the season on the PUP list or IR w/ designation for return.

Thanks for the feedback brother.
Yeah that's a tough break for Hank. I wouldn't be surprised if they just end up cutting him. This is the 2nd time he's missing much needed practice.
I had a lot of hope for this kids, like many of us, but I'm thinking he's done. We'll see.

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
If anyone can find stats on Andre Roberts drops in 2013 that would be awesome!
I read the article where he is spoken about. This was 2012 season: "Andre Roberts found himself among the league's worst at dropping passes. He had 10 drops and 64 catches, for a drop rate of 13.5 percent."

2013: He has 43 receptions and 78 targets. I'm not sure if that's bad, could be the qb.
I mean Calvin Johnson had 84 and 156.

Re: Griffin gets a new WR, Andre Roberts from the Cardinals
I don't really understand this signing and it's not because Andre Roberts is a bad player or anything but more so because of need and money available. Perhaps our FO and coaching staff isn't high on Malcolm Jenkins or Antoine Bethea but for 16 million (Jenkins) i'd rather have a starting caliber safety than a marginal starting caliber WR. Our issues on defense, to me, far outweigh offensive skill position needs. I don't know, just seems odd but they obviously feel like our 2nd WR spot is a critical need. I'm not saying we should've signed Malcolm Jenkins either, but for 16 million i'd have rather had a safety who could start or put that money toward one. I hope Andre proves me wrong.

An odd signing. Roberts' numbers last season were comparable to Moss' and he isn't a #2, maybe he'll be used as the slot receiver with his speed.
Roberts: 43 receptions, 471 yards, 2 tds
Moss: 42 receptions, 452 yards, 2tds
Roberts: 43 receptions, 471 yards, 2 tds
Moss: 42 receptions, 452 yards, 2tds

I see him as an Aldrick Robinson who can catch. Not sure why we didn't "aim higher" in this position (since they decided to go WR first), but I do like the signing. Our core from last year isn't going to cut it (expect Garcon).
