Okay I personally would have covered McCoy with Biggers, or Amerson before I would have had Kerrigan cover him. I would have actually had that Rookie out of Florida State cover him I believe his name is Brandon Jenkins cover him before I would have used Kerrigan. Now for me, I don't have one of my two best pass rushers attempt to cover the fastest back on the field, ESPECIALLY when I know there is what 10% chance that the blitz will get there within 2-3 seconds. Now that is about as best I can answer this question.........

So a nickel defense. Which means if Foles audibles to a run, you have an OL/TE on Biggers/Amerson. That surely will work out well...

Brandon Jenkins, who was injured for a bit this year? Jenkin's who's never on the field? You want him covering Shady...? You want a ROOKIE, who barely saw the field, who never had to cover a person in space, to cover the best scat-back in the NFL???!?! You want Brandon Jenkins, who didn't play hardly AT ALL in 2012 or 2013... LOLOL You want a man who's barely played in football in 2 years to cover Shady McCoy?

But fine, if that's your decision. You have to realize that it's not perfect. That you're decision is equally able to get screwed. Haz had very little options. He felt that Kerrigan was his best with the tools available. It was a lose/lose.

Look man, I'm not a big Haslett fan, and I'd really rather have seen him gone. But anybody who follows the team closely knows there is a lot more behind these numbers than just "Haslett sucks". Its a fact that Shanahan made the switch to the 3-4, not Haslett. And its a stone fact that the defense has been completely hamstrung by the cap penalty the past two years. Trotting these stats out and writing "epic fail" is just epically gay.

Not to mention that Haslett allegedly had his playcalling meddled with and/or revoked by Shanahan last year...so maybe he's not all to blame like we originally thought.

Sounds like Jay wants to keep the 3-4 defense. Says we have the foundation for it, have run it for a few years, and that he hated scheming against that defense as an O-coordinator.

Okay I have to admit, listening to this press conference I am liking what I hear. The Good for Sean comment about McVey being hired as the OC was priceless. Yeah I think this is the cocky SOB that this team needs, I actually think that Snyder isn't going to mess with this dude.....

Obviously you need to re-read what I said .... I was referring to McVay being slotted as the OC ... he is 27.

I am glad we have decided on a HC and I like the choice .. I agree with riggofan - it's time to move on with all this

I particularly like the choice for OC - Sean McVay - it might have been harder to 'work together' if we'd brought in some super OC
this way Sean can learn from Jay and at the same time bring some new thinking to the offense that Jay has proven is a good offense

we do need a QB coach that complements what these 2 want to get done and gets RG3 ready to be the QB he (RG3) wants to be
RG3 said today that he's looking forward to becoming a much better all round QB and not just a good read option type QB

I am not as anti Haslett as the DC as some here are ... I think Haslett will have a lot to prove IF he's made the DC and I think he'll be driven to have a much better defense

I really don't see that happening - Jay would have to convince the FO that he really cannot work with Haslett or Raheem and that's a long shot

I am hopeful about all this but we seem to have become the "wait until next year" franchise - full of promise in the off season, and then ... the real season begins ...

it's not all about who is coaching here, so don't get your knickers in a twist about this guy or that guy ...

“I’m gonna wait and see,” Gruden said. “I’m gonna interview a lot of coaches. Like I said, I’m gonna look at each coach that has been retained by Bruce [Allen, the team's general manager] here and interview everybody. I know there’s a lot of coaches here that can coach and there’s a lot of good football people that are here that can coach.
“There’s also good football people across the country right now looking to work and looking to work for the Washington Redskins. 27? Wow. Working with someone as difficult and headstrong as Griffin is going to be a real challenge for a guy only 27. This doesn't look promising I think Griffin at this stage needs a really strong, confident guy who could set expectations of what Griffin needs to learn to become a real NFL QB and I think that is too much to ask from a 27 year old guy who knows he serves at Griffin's pleasure. I think the tail is going to wag the dog.

This is true we don't know. We do know we are going to have to deal with the hand we are dealt. My only problem with Jay from what I have read is he typically pass oriented and we have a great back. He isn't known for using his full back much. We have an awesome fullback. I really like DY. He will probably just block if used much at all.

When Gibbs 1 was here he was a pass happy Don Coryell disciple. He learned after the season was half gone to run more and stuck with that and became a smash mouth coach. In his second year things took off. Before you say I don't care what happened in the past, I am just giving an example of what "may" happen.

The good news is I am reading things from Steelers fans saying things like they are glad he is gone from their division and we should take that as a compliment.
