What would you do, down 17-15?

Go for "2" and the tie...possibly sending the game into O.T..

Okay....

Your team is playing its first preseason game.

You're losing 17-9.

You score a touchdown with a minute left to bring the score to 17-15.

Do you go for "2" and risk going into sudden death O.T. or do you just kick the extra point, take the loss...and take your team home...having already evaluated your players in the 1st game...which is meaningless anyway.

[Bet ya can't guess what I would do?]

Go for the 2, even though it doesn't matter if you win, you don't always get a chance to test your team in that situation. Denver went for it and it gave us a chance to run our 2 minute Offense, look what happened.

Your right. It helped us out just as much as it helped them out.

By this point in the game you've seen most of what you want to see so go for 1 and then the film room why risk it. now if you need 1 to tie or 2 to win then you go for 2 either way you get the game over and no additional injuries

Go for 2, of course none of us want an injury to take place, but the key is to test out key situations that will come about at critical times in the season. The object to preseason is to evaluate all that you have and put the finishing touches on the depth chart, but the object to all sports is to WIN......therefore you go for 2.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

You never concede a loss. You go for 2.

Go for 2 - gives your team a situation they may face in the regular season, plus you are playing kids who are trying to make the squad, not your starters or even second string at this point. Let em play it out.

Your team just busted their butts off getting that touchdown. After that you don't tell them what they did was meaningless. Talk about a moral killer!!! You got to go for the two point conversion. Let those scrubs get a chance to show what they can do.

That is my two cents on this.

Go for two. I would have onsides kicked it to get the ball back though. That would have ben another "game-type situation". Well, at least, i'd do it in Madden.

No way would you onside kick after tieing the game with 1:26 left. Count on your D to stop them and go to overtime, if you don't get the onside kick they have the ball at midfield and are almost in range for a field goal.

In ESPN however I go for it on 4th on my 20. Just need a "undo" command and it would be perfect.

The team that is on the field at the time is largely 3rd string, 4th string and camp fodder... with a few solid players thrown in. You have learned essentially all you are going to learn at this point, and any "special play" that results from this must be measured against the fact that the opponents are also of the same quality.

Get off the field, avoid injury to players in contention.

NOt to mention, your players will lose respect for you if you concede a game. It's all about winning to these ultra competitive guys, even if it is in preseason. No one wants to be a loser.

When down 2, you go for 2. The difference in preseason comes when you score a TD late and you're down 1.

Many coaches will go for 2 and live with losing by 1 or winning by 1.

Regular season, obviously, is a different story.
