John Hall not ready?

Post by hatsOFF2gibbs »

Guys, I got a question. How come John Hall was not on the field for the last minute field goal? He is supposed to be the better kicker on the team....right? Does he have something wrong with him or did the coaching staff want to give the newbie a chance to show what he's worth? I was surprised when seeing Hall on the sidelines with his helmet off when we had a chance to win a HOF game. I'm guessing the coaching staff wanted to give a chance to the new guy. Am I right?

I think the coaches wanted to give the newbie a shot. You've got to remember we have 5 preseason games, 1 more than the rest of the league. They want to give as many people a shot right now. I think you'll see a lot more of Hall as the presason moves forward.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

That would be my guess. The whole point of the pre-season is to find out what your players can do. We already know Hall is an NFL-caliber kicker. Why not find out if the same can be said of Kimra?

Yeah I think it was the same reason we saw Hasselbeck as opposed to Ramsey or Brunell again! Kimra looked pretty decent in camp. On one day he actually was doing much better then Hall. It was probably just a bad day for Hall!

LOL, we're talking about a kicker. Its not like he needs to be able to recognize formations, or pickup blitzes. He doesn't need to be able to call audibles or get his timing right with receivers. His job is simple. KICK IT. I think Hall can handle it, lol.

Hall will have several attempts at similar kicks during the regular season, and will nail them. The Swedish Kicker got a good shot to "audition" for another team. Great move by the coaches.

That was an awesome move to thave Kimran take the kick. Although, I don't think he impressed many people on that kick alone. It barely made it between the uprights, and I actually thought it was going to miss. I wish him well though. I hope he can get picked up with another team.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

I liked that move that Coach Gibbs made. We have John Hall as our kicker, who in my opinion is one of the best in the league. Kimran is most certainly going to get cut just because we have John Hall. So why not put him up there to kick the winning field goal in front of a national audience? That way he can find a job in the NFL when we cut him. Very classy move and you know the players have got to appreciate that.
