OMG. Shanahan wanted Tannehill NOT RGIII

Post by riggofan »

This is seriously the most B.S. bit of "reporting" I have ever read. lol. Enjoy...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... tannehill/

Today’s final stop, with Shan and RJ of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, included a mention from the hosts of a recent tweet suggesting that Washington coach Mike Shanahan wanted to draft quarterback Ryan Tannehill, not Robert Griffin III.

After my time machine brought me back to West Virginia, I started researching the issue. As it turns out, Bomani Jones of ESPN and elsewhere said Monday on Twitter that Stephen A. Smith of ESPN “says he has sources who say shanahan wanted tannehill, rather than trade up for griffin.”

The Redskins held the sixth pick in the 2012 draft. They sent that pick, a second-round pick, and two future first-round picks to St. Louis for the ability to move up to No.2.

While Smith doesn’t specifically cover the NFL, he’s in a sufficiently prominent position to be privy to things that the average person wouldn’t know. So if Smith is indeed hearing now from a reliable source that Shanahan wanted Tannehill in April 2012, what does it possibly mean?

It means that Shanahan could be trying either to save his job in D.C., or to lay the foundation for his next job elsewhere.

Putting aside how completely bogus this "reporting" is. Can anyone imagine Tannehill playing behind this offensive line the past year and half? Good grief. We'd be getting a look at the Patrick Ramsey sackfest part II.

I can't 'put it aside' - it's a complete fabrication …

I see many of these type of 'headers' - I will not lower myself to read them

a bunch of BS
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

If Shanahan wanted Tannehill, then we would have Tannehill. Complete BS.

Yeah, that's my reaction. I haven't seen any indication since Shanahan got here that Snyder has ever told him what to do.

I wouldn't have even passed this on except that the "source" is Stephen A. Smith at ESPN. Which is kind of weird in itself.

These are basically people that want to throw fuel to the fire. The media is doing everything it can to sup up the RGIII - MS beef.

Don't the idiots that reported this know that Shanny has the final day on every move football related. No way you move up to take a guy your HC (who makes the call on ALL things football) isn't completely sold on!

Kevin Sheahan asked Adam Shefterabout this report and Sheffty said Shanny was ALL IN on the trade up to get Robert.

Doesn't Shanahan have complete control over the acquisitions the team makes? If he honestly wanted Tannehill, he would have waited. This is BS that you wouldn't be hearing if our record was 7-3 instead of 3-7.

I don't think trolls have enough time, we are pathetic on offense, defense special teams. Shanahan whether he wanted Tannehill, Luck or RGIII or Wilson, this team would still have this record because this is not a good coach and his staff he has put together reeks of arrogance, incompetence and is way over it's head. I am glad we finally have a Franchise QB that perhaps Snyder will listen too and have these pathetic coaches sent packing before they destroy RGIII and Morris.

lol. Sounds like a recipe for success. Hopefully RGIII will suggest that Snyder let RGIII act as OC/call of the offensive plays and hire Rev. Randall Cunningham as head coach/team pastor.
