"QB hits" is an understatement. Both would be illegal in professional boxing...maybe pro "wrestling", but there it's choreographed. Ugly stuff.

Maybe it's time to make the "crack-back" block legal again. A Charley Taylor specialty: if some player "took liberties" with Sonny Jurgensen, then the Skins would run a play in which Taylor would take one step downfield, turn, and drives his shoulder-pads through the side of the defender's knee.

And...this story from the leather-helmet days. Some guy from the Bears had punched Sammy Baugh every time Sammy passed. The OL was furious, but Slingin' Sam said, "Don;t bloack that guy. Just let him through"

Next play, the Chicago player ran full speed at Baugh, who rifled a pass square into the guy's face. There are various legends about the result. Most say that the Bear was knocked unconcious.
