Jansen's Injury
While I am hopeful, I am also realistic. Best case...it takes a good 6 months to recover from a ruptured achilles. For most people it takes 9-12 months. I seriously doubt we'll see Jansen this season; except on the sidelines.

Come on GoSKins. The full extent of the injury is not known yet and it won't be known until Jansen gets an MRI. "Jansen is a monster" Joe Bugel himself said that. You can bet that he's going to fight this thing and come back as soon as he can.
Last night the post game show said the best case scenario for his return is December. I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the lineup then. It wouldn't surprise me because you just don't play every single down in college (four seasons) and then play all but one down in the pros (five seasons) without being a "monster".

While I'd like to believe that The Rock is a speedy healer, since he's never been injured, nobody has any clue. He could be a 4-monther, or he could just as easily be a 9-12 monther. The facts are difficult to sugar coat, and the facts are that MOST people (monsters or not) take a long time to recover, that even if he recovers in 4 months, and the Skins are still in contention, he's not going to play because the OLine we'll have will probably be playing well, and if we're not in contention, then why risk aggravating the injury for no good reason. We won't see him this season.

Weel said. I completely agree with this assessment. No reason to be stupid about it and force anything that could result in a career threatening manor. Get well, Jon. Be an assistant coach this year. It will come in handy later in life. As technically sound as he is, he is bound to be the next Joe Bugel someday.

I have to agree with what you said as well Laluvah. I guess I'm just being optimistic about Jansen's recovery. He is a beast, but your right they shouldn't rush him back. It really sucks losing Jansen. I was hoping this year would have been the year that he would have finally made the pro bowl. Hopefully, he can make it back next year and make the pro bowl then.
