my oh my do we have a gutsy QB - he was hit so many times and kept making plays
where are all those guys that think this kid is "slowed" by the injury and surgery
He can't walk on water. The guy played lights out. The offense played lights out. The play calling was pitiful and special teams and defense was pitiful. How they allow a floater on 3rd and 9 with a backup is unacceptable. Rocca needs to be cut.
Miss you 21

That call made no sense and to a WR RGIII give maybe 3 looks an entire game
couldn't agree with either of you any more, I hated that play call. Garcon and Reed are mis-matches and the ball needed to go to one of them or Paulsen i like around the goal line.
On a different topic, what the hell happened to our pash rush...has anyone seen it. Cofield was killing it in pre-season and early season but i haven't seen much pressure from him lately. Rak is non-existent, even against Webb who couldn't get run out of Chicago fast enough. Up 27-14 and we should've been able to start teeing off on their QB. Unacceptable loss all the way around.
Yup, there are some serious concerns with this team not only for this season but the future as well.

We need a consistent defense, something we haven't had in a while. This offense, despite any criticism of play-calling has consistently put up points for us. We held the ball for 36 minutes, rushed for 200 yards almost and had no turnovers tonight. While there's a few play calls I didn't necessarily like i'm not gonna blame this on Kyle or the offense. The defense has to be able to win when we score 27 and has to be able to lock down a 13 point lead, especially against a bad opponent with back-ups all over the place. I'm sick of seeing guys uncovered or mis-matched (seriously how does Riley end up on Simpson on a 3rd and 9?), sick of seeing us not know how to defend trip sets and tired of only being able too get pressure with all out blitzes. Haslett has been here 4 years and while i think he did a heck of a job last year during our run he's just not done enough in 4 years. We need a defensive coordinator change in the offseason, IMO.
I was AT the game. I saw it from opening to close. Just got back in.
You can blame refs all you like, but your blame is misplaced. The Redskins team is sub-par. Their coaching staff is even worse. The coaching of this team is horrible. They had a 13 point lead and squandered it against a 1-7 team. Griffin is a decent QB, but his line is awful. He's not a franchise QB, but Snyder spent a franchise on him.
Bottom line: The season is over, the coaching staff is crap and the players are mediocre. The players might be a bit better than mediocre, but the coaching staff has no idea how to make the most of them. Shanny agreed to coach if they let his turd of a kid be the OC and cut his teeth. Kyle sucks and Haslett sucks. Mike is just watching it collapse. The newness of RG3 can't mask their ineptitude this season.
Maybe Snyder will sell it and be done with it. He obviously lacks the ability to assemble the right components.
I have no issues with the O-line - they were mauling the D-line of the Vikes in the 1st half and putting on a clinic. We all know what they are in pass protection, as do our coaches, so you do what gives you the best chance to win = RUN THE BALL!!! We were doing screens and letting guys like Garcon get the YAC that we paid for in acquiring him and in the second half we simply abandoned the game plan like we did against Denver and San Diego the weeks before.
This was an easy win we GAVE to the Vikings and the NFC East. I put 90% of the blame squarely on the coaches for this one. Ouch! I am really having difficulty swallowing this loss. 7-8 starters not playing for Minnesota and we give up 20 unanswered in the 2nd half with a 13-point lead? It's that bad ladies and gentlemen. This team is in for a world of hurt, starting with RGIII if he doesn't read blitzes better and have hot reads to hold the dogs at bay. But if I were a Def. Coordinator, I'd send the house on him too down after down. You know RGIII can pick you apart if he sees the field, so why give him that chance. I feel like I could write a book on playing ugly after watching this season so far. How is Hasslet still employed? Crazy.
Will Montgomery is just average. Chris Chester is getting old. And Kory is just a tad above average. It's sad when Tyler Polumbus makes other linemen look bad.
We don't have a bad line. They just aren't very good outside of the scheme. When it's man on man, they look average.
The Defense is weak. You can't give up 32 points a game and expect to win.

No, none of the interior linemen can pass block in the NFL and all three need to be replaced. The Denver game and this game are enough proof.
Polumbus is also pretty bad, I don't want to leave him out.

Then there are those that say a few iffy play calls make a guy a bad play caller and a bad OC and that designing plays is the same as game planning. They tend to ignore all the really good play calls, the gaping holes, the wide open drops, and the wide open misses.
SkinsJock wrote:my oh my do we have a gutsy QB - he was hit so many times and kept making plays
Yes we do. Too bad the refs allow such ragdoll treatment while the other team's guy is protected from us.

You think he's as fast as last year??

I'm sorry but I can't call his play-calling stupid when the receivers are open and Robert sail the pass over their head. Roberts accuracy was off and has been off for quite a while. Not say Kyle is infallible, he's far from it. But every article, this one included is saying that the receivers are WIDE OPEN, but Robert can't find them. That's NOT Kyles fault. The plays are working as designed, Robert has to grow into being a proper drop-back QB.
I agree that Robert's got a lot of work to do and that there have been a number of 'open' players that he's missed …
I think he'll continue to improve in this offense - IMO - he's better each game
I don't think that Kyle's game planning and play calling are in sync with Robert's adapting from what he did last season
I don't think that we're seeing much from Kyle - I think he's a good play caller but I don't think he's good enough - that's probably just me
Looks like we are a bit closer in our assessment that you've indicated elsewhere.

Last season Kyle (and Mike) game planned and called plays that suited what RG3 and their playmakers could do well AND what the opposing defenses would most likely have trouble defending
this season, IMHO, Kyle (and possibly Mike) have not done as good a job - our offense has not been as efficient I do think that Kyle is a good play caller - he was last season and in Houston - you cannot discount that and I'm sure he can be again he's not doing as good a job this season
btw - I don't know if RG3 is as fast as last season …. but …. it's fair to use the word 'fast' when talking about his speed
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

How many times did Bob get hit in the pocket yesterday? The most decidedly did not look average.
