Legit and realistic prediction
Many people in America are saying the Redskins are awful, no hope, RG3 isn't going to work well this year, even articles on how the Redskins (made an awful trade) http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-rober ... 42615.html
In a little less than 2 months (right before the SF game) we will be in playoff contention.
Reasons-NFC East sucks, offense looked improved against GB, our starting qb will have more experience recovering from the injury and will be much more healed and mobile, young defensive players will get used to the NFL and finally last year everyone was doubting the Redskins when we were 3-6. Maybe they perform better when they are not receiving lots of praise.

Regardless of the outcome. Once RG3 is one hundred percent the team can go on a run. If the Skins ran off 7 in a row last year. That proves that they are capable of doing the same. That does not mean that they will but we have proof that they have done so.

Truth be told, this team has NEVER lost a post-bye regular season game with RGIII at the helm (or Capt. Kirk for that matter). 13-3 or 12-4 would work fine for me. Our schedule's tough as all get out, but when the O is working, I can see us having a chance against anyone.

Well, the good news is that, although we're 1-3, we're now entering the easy part of our schedule......
.....oh no, wait, that's not right. I'm already considering a trip into outer space during the week of the Broncos game. That one could be a major humiliation. Too many people are placing their hopes in a 2012 style rally in the second half of the season, but it's hard to see that happening again, Last season, we were frustrating for the first half of the season. This season, we've been dreadful so far, and yesterday's win doesn't change a lot.
The NFC East is so abysmal, we could actually be in contention until late in the year, but a 7 win season is the best we can possibly hope for, I fear.

We will be in playoff contention. I don't even look at the 1-3 record, I look at the 1 game back in the division (where we have a better chance getting into the playoffs not the wildcard)
I would like to mention that everyone in the division basically faces the same difficult teams. The Lions and Packers are tough teams and we already faced them. The defense will get better with more experience, the quarterback will get more comfortable with getting healthier and more of a flow with the practice playing games prior. This early bye is big for the Redskins. We will see.... not gonna be pessimistic when I truly feel the Redskins got a legit chance to win this weak division.

I'm not even sure why people are concerned with the playoffs. This isn't a super bowl contending team, so I don't see why it matters. If we win the NFC East --- great, but we'll lose in the first round.
We need to build and improve on a week to week basis. RGIII needs to get better. Our DBs need to transition from college to NFL ball. Our D needs to gell and learn their assignments. This team isn't where we thought it would be and is much worse defensively than we thought.
As far as the article --- it's stupid. Nothing more to it. Basically an article to fill up internet space that has no support or conclusion.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

This whole trying to look ahead thing is just completely pointless. I found it so irritating to check this website after we lost to Detroit and read, "We're 0-3. Season is over."
We some big issues on both defense and offense. I want to see the team use the next two weeks to correct those problems as much as possible and come back ready to beat Dallas.
Worrying about whether we're going to lose in the first round of the playoffs or not? Come on.

Some here should just take a break and come back next season ... maybe this team will be 'better' by then ...
the ONLY games that matter are the next game and the one we just played ...
looking ahead is really pointless ... unless you're just getting a kick out of predicting the worst based on what we did in the first 3 games
OR
go ahead ... make out like you know something (anything
) that the rest of us here don't

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Right on man.
I've really liked the reactions I've seen from some of the Redskins themselves today.
“Honestly, you’re not gonna sit here and be like ‘We’re world beaters,’ “ Moss said. “We won one game. I’m not gonna get geeked off one win. I understand this game. I’ve played it too long to know that this one game ain’t gonna make us great. We still have to go out there and be better."
“It’ll be a tougher task [going forward],” Cofield said. “It won’t be the backup quarterback. Just like we didn’t get too down when we were struggling, we’re not going to get too high when we have a good performance.”
I'm not saying that they will bounce back and be able to overcome all of the obvious shortcomings. But if this team proved anything last year, its that they have some real character.
One week at a time.

Please. Tell me why I'm wrong.
The only, and I mean only, arguement is "RGIII will come to form by the end of the year and with the NFC East where it is, we could hit stride at the right time"
That is all you/we have. The problem is that it's based on hope, nothing concrete; just a shot in the dark. A fading optimistic hope void of statistical or logical support.
If you're eye roll isn't because you think all skins fans should blindly be optimistic, have unrealistic expectations by disregarding facts and basing such expectations on unfounded "hope" that things will just turn around ---- well, then I'd love to hear you try to rationalize this one..........
But, sorry --- "hey, it could happen" doesn't work for me.

I made this post before the Raiders game. Purpose of me posting this is to give my opinion on the future of the Redskins after seeing fans and the media say this team is sh$t.
But, with the stuff I listed and the facts of the NFC East sucks and we are 1 game back...playing the division leader next game. We have a good chance being in playoff contention.

Root for a team when they are good and bad. Yeah they sucked few years back we didn't have a qb. I think the players care if they win the division they get a bonus. Might not win a super bowl this year (not a definitive answer, but as long as we are getting better each year and contending we'll get there eventually and make it an attractive place for free-agents.
masterkwon wrote:There certainly won't be any bragging rights for the team that does "win" the division this year and "playoff team" will be the misnomer of all misnomers. These teams are bad.
Any given Sunday my man. Remember the Gints won two SuperBowls in the 07 and 11. They had a record of 9-7 in those years winning the NFC East.
The same thing could happen to the winner of the NFC East.
Our team went on a 7 game winning streak last year. So its not like its something new for our division to look no good and end up with a playoff contender and SuperBowl winner.
We still are the NFC East with the most SB titles ever. Just think how teams will underestimate us if we win the division. All we need is to catch fire at the right time.

Forgive me Jock. I completely lost control of myself, and ended up speaking my mind

What I do know, and everybody else knows it too, is that we've been crap for 4 games so far. RG3 is entitled to a few games of rust, but too many others have played as if suffering from terminal oxidation.....
