Yeah, but we really don't have many numbers left. I think players should be able to wear the numbers of the greats, seeing it as an honor and challenge to live up to the legacy.

hah. I've personally always hated the practice of retiring jersey numbers. For some of these numbers, I'd rather see young players have to give Art Monk or Russ Grimm or whomever a call and ask permission to wear the number. You're still honoring those great players and maybe helping that young guy out at the same time.
And if Sonny thinks you're a d-bag who doesn't deserve to wear the #9, he can always say no.

Minnefield had microfracture surgery, which no one ever comes back from strong. It causes a permanent weakening of the knee. The Skins know that his career can be over at any moment, even from a routine hit. He didn't get beaten out by anybody, as official reports have it. He was cut because of his medical condition.
