Heard from my son, who is a twitter person, that we've signed Chase M and LB Will Compton. I can't find it on the web however.

Redskins signed RB Jawan Jamison, OL Will Compton, CB Chase Minnifield, WR Nick Williams, C Tevita Stevens, and OT Xavier Nixon to their practice squad.
The Redskins strongly considered keeping Minnifield on their 53-man roster, but opted for old Jim Haslett pal Jerome Murphy instead. Jamison was the 228th overall pick in April's draft. He was beaten out by Chris Thompson.

Thanks Yajexyage...

one minor correction, they signed Will Compton the LB to the Practice Squad, NOT Tom Compton the OL, who made the 53.

I liked that we kept Nick Williams a welker Amendola type WR just in case one of the main guys goes down.

Just looked at Redskins.com, they have him on the PS...honestly, not a guy I noticed much. I watched all 4 preseason games, didn't see him or didn't notice him. I did notice a bunch of guys on Defense with hard names to pronounce...one a LB and another a DL. but but NOT Hamilton.

Gotta say, I trust our coaches/front office on player decisions, they are so much better than Vinnie (and Zorn, and Danny) it's unbelievable!

Man, I was a little worried about the cuts. Minnifield obviously, Lance Lewis. I also would like to see if they can develop Xavier Nixon. Things couldn't have worked out better with the practice squad!

LB William Compton

· DL Dominique Hamilton

· RB Jawan Jamison

· OL Tevita Stevens

· OL Xavier Nixon

· WR Nick WIlliams

· CB Chase Minnifield

· WR Lance Lewis

I don't like Minnifield dropped to the practice squad. He should be contending for serious playing time, not just becoming one of the fifty three. I'm also disappointed Skye Dawson was given so little chance to make the team. Dawson has jaw-dropping moves and I hope he gets picked up by somebody who needs him.

I don't like the Minnifield situation either, but a CB that's 4th on the chart needs to play special teams, and it's been mentioned on here that he doesn't. I really think he will move up next year and take over for D. Hall.

I do like that we're deep enough to drop someone like Chase to the PS.

Does anyone know why Minnifield doesn't play ST?

I know what you guys are saying about Minnifield. But does anybody think we're really going to be carrying four QBs for the entire season? I kind of believe Chase will end up on the 53 sooner than later. Just a hunch.

Possibly health concerns. He JUST got healthy, so why subject him to the most viscous team right away? I'm sure that they wanted to evaluate him at the position for which he was brought in to play, 1st and foremost.

I'm sure that he'll play ST in the future and make the 53.

One injury to one of our current corners and he's back on the roster. I certainly hope that don't happen but, its good to still have Chase around for that reason.

We're lucky he cleared waivers.

My understanding was that other teams "expressed interest", but I have no idea how that interest manifested itself, or whether there were any indications from Minnifield as to how he would react to such interest.

In other words: dunno.

But I do think we're lucky he's still with us. I don't think it's a wild stretch of imagination to think of Amerson and Minnifield being our starter corners within a couple of years.
