Under the Radar - Young Guns
Sky Dawson
Lance Lewis
Adam Gettis
Will Compton
Gumbs
I've been impressed by these guys. Sky Dawson it is just something about him that give me that same feeling I had when I first seen Brandon Banks, like he can take it to the house each time he touches it.
Lance Lewis has outplayed Briscoe in my opinion, which is kinda sad but hey I think he could be decent with more reps and opportunity.
Gettis has been out there grinding and has been impressive.
Compton seem to have natural linebacker instincts.
Gumbs lays the hammer and isnt' afraid to get into the mix in the box.
Would be cool to keep these guys for development/practice squad.

Ha ha nicely done. He's depth with a lot of heart, and looked like a solid special teams guy... ala omg

Lewis is the guy who's played really well the last two weeks. I would love to see him play vs the #1's in a few sets. Right now my WR's who make the roster are as follows:
Pierre
Morgan
Moss
Hank
Aldrick
Lewis
If not picked up by another team, Skye Dawson probably makes the PS. I really do think that they intend to use Paul to return kickoffs which is just weird b/c he's so damn big (6'1, 233).

Why aren't we talking more about Pat White . Didn't he more or less just ice the Steelers, or is that just my perception. Didn't Helu score because of White's previous carries. I think so. I think the Skins are just flat out better when running the offense designed for Griffin.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Ha ha nicely done. With Griff and Cousins Pat is still just the "other guy". While in Oakland I believe they'd be in a frenzy, cuz Pryor < White... Can we get anything for a fourth stringer? Like you said, an offense for Griff. Pat is decent but is the odd man out for sure. I had to take a step back and realized his action is vs players who will be lucky to play in arena football, also making Helus run less impressive right?

Man the thing is Dawson looked so good in OTAs. I know I know...just saying...frankcal20 wrote:Lewis is the guy who's played really well the last two weeks. I would love to see him play vs the #1's in a few sets. Right now my WR's who make the roster are as follows:

Also he didn't make any major plays, but he seems to have a lot of potential on the punt returns. Not sure if we'd have the luxury of having merely a dedicated PR guy.
Either way, I hope our WRs make it clear who is "who" in the next couple of weeks. Would hate to see us cut a guy that ends up being great in time.
It's really not a big deal if a player gets cut and goes on to have a HOF career elsewhere - we ONLY need to keep players that the coaches and staff here think can help our team ...
I think it's great that we have players that might not be good enough to play here but that can go on and help other franchises and even become 'great' players ...
not all great players are 'great' on any team - most of them need the other players around them
As we get better, I'm sure we'll let some good players go that go on to help other franchises (maybe even become 'great') but would probably just be good players if they'd stayed here

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Nothing against Pat White, but I'd like to see what he can do against first string players. I think most would agree with you though that it would be great to see him beat out Grossman and be a guy who can run that RGIII offense.crazyhorse1 wrote:Why aren't we talking more about Pat White . In the very unfortunate event that both Robert and Kirk get injured, I would feel much better about having Grossman run the offense vs Pat. That being said, we would be screwed either way.
I watched from 7 rows back of the end zone when Rex threw that unbelievably horrific INT. Lets just all hope that neither of the two will have to come in during a must win situation.

Jordan Reed said he ran the wrong route on that play and should have been right where the ball was thrown to.ATX_Skins wrote:I watched from 7 rows back of the end zone when Rex threw that unbelievably horrific INT.
Can't argue with that!Lets just all hope that neither of the two will have to come in during a must win situation.

You know it bugs me when people always say that guys are out there with defensive players who will be lucky to play in the Arena league but so is the guys that he's playing with on offense right?cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:With Griff and Cousins Pat is still just the "other guy". To me if a guy is excelling with a certain group he should be promoted.
I think what you want to see is if he's accurate/quick and making the right decisions. For the most part Pat White playing with the 3rd team offense with 3rd team defense has played well.

What cracks me up is people fail to see two major points about our defense(this year's additions aside)
1. They improved dramatically all through last year (which is connected to my 2nd point)
2. Our defense practices against one of the best offfenses in the NFL MULTIPLE times a week!
We already are looking better in play overall. Only going to get stronger

Don't try to over analyze my post or put words in my.mouth. he is a fourth stringer here fora reason... Elsewhere different story. Hopefully we stash him on the PS, but the fact is I'd rather have Sky Dawson (someone who would actually dress up and see the field) over Pat never playing. As for the third steamers he's also had some help from Paulson and Helu to help bolster the "look" of his play. He's decent, not great, and that's why he is where he is. His passing skills leave a LOT to be desired hence the 4th string title.mastdark81 wrote:You know it bugs me when people always say that guys are out there with defensive players who will be lucky to play in the Arena league but so is the guys that he's playing with on offense right?cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:With Griff and Cousins Pat is still just the "other guy". Since we are likely keeping 4 Tight Ends, it would be tough to keep 6 wide receivers.frankcal20 wrote:Lewis is the guy who's played really well the last two weeks. I would love to see him play vs the #1's in a few sets. Right now my WR's who make the roster are as follows:

Well my reply was mostly in general cause I hear it often...but you did prompt me to think about it. My point is if he is a 4th stringer and excelling with the 4th string competition then he should get a shot at 3rd string and so on until he no longer excels. That is all I'm saying. Helu and Paulson? If your talking about Paulson's one hand catch then it isnt' a good example because thats his job to catch the ball. Helu's td run was great and props to him but also Pat White's two successful read option runs prior helped set that up for Helu to have more spacing in the middle for that run.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Don't try to over analyze my post or put words in my.mouth. he is a fourth stringer here fora reason... I'm just going by what my OWN eyes see and not what reporters have been bashing him about during training camp. Considering he's in his first year with this offense and with a great group of coaches would like to see us keep him some how and add to his development. I definitely would keep Skye Dawson over him as well. White probably isnt' eligible for the practice squad.
