I'll start with position groupings. These are ballpark numbers and could use some discussion.

QB 3
RB 4
WR 6
TE 4
OL 9

DL 7
LB 7
DB 10

P 1
PK 1
LS 1
Hog Bowl III, V, X Champion (2011, 2013, 2018)

Hognostication Champion (2011, 2013, 2016)

Hognostibowl XII Champion (2017, 2018)

Wow, those numbers seem valid, but we sure could use an extra WR or OL in there somewhere. Seven DL may be excessive, seeing as we play a three man front. And we might only keep two QBs, but there's got to be some concern about keeping Rex until RG Jr. Jr. shows he can make it through the first few games without any trouble. Also, we may be able to get the LS from one of the OL, so that could be another spot.

'parently, somebody doesn't value the LS... A team does that at it's own peril.

Not saying I don't value the position, just that our LS may come from the ranks of the OL, thereby freeing up one roster spot.

The Redskins were 8-0 when Sundberg played last year. We can't get rid of him!

The question is WHO....not how many per position.

I predict RGIII will be on the 53.

I don't see us keeping 11 DB's. To the best of my knowledge, we never have. I also think it would be very risky to go with only 1 backup interior OL.

You are correct, it should have been Libereus instead of Pashos. I think Murphy is a solid special teams guy and getting good reviews from camp. Also, Im not sold that Merriweather is going to make it thru a whole season.

I believe I heard someone on the Buc broadcast say "Pat White is not eligible for the practice squad because he's played a full season in the NFL."

2 questions from last night's game:

1) did Royster do enough to earn a spot?

2) Did White do enough to convince people that he belongs in the NFL?

He's not

yupchagee wrote:2 questions from last night's game:

He looked good... in the last pre-season game... if he didn't do enough to earn a spot, he did enough to remind them how earned the spot the last two years. When he was drafted he pushed Keiland Williams off the roster, I thought Williams was going to regain his spot but it might come down to how bad his "sprained shoulder".

He did enough to get another look from one or two teams... if he gets cut

Chase Minnifield has been waived, trying to stash him on PS. Darn!

Have to think that Winfield's release from Seattle has something to do with...

No way that guy clears waivers! Only way he was going to stay on this team is by not getting cut. I thought he was going to be the third corner.

Loved this quote today from Coach on Gumbs making the final 53:

"Gumbs came in and competed. That’s what we tell these players: We don’t care if you’re a first-round draft choice or a free agent, we’re gonna play the best players. Gumbs came in and played well, and he earned himself a roster spot.”

 Really? - surprise, surprise ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
