Jordan Reed - TE

Post by DarthMonk »

Jordan Reed - TE - Redskins

CSN Washington calls the knee/quad issue that held third-round TE Jordan Reed out of OTAs "somewhat concerning."

Reed will supposedly be ready for training camp, but his injury was much more than a standard muscle pull. "I had a (thigh) contusion in college and that caused my quad to shutdown and stop working, which caused my kneecap to start moving around and banging into my bone, and that caused a bone bruise," Reed explained after minicamp. Reed is unlikely to be in position to make an early-season impact.

IMO, this isn't a big deal. If so, stick him on the PUP list until he's ready. Fred is back, Paulsen is awesome. This kid has the tools to be another good weapon for RGIII.

+1 - Reed's value is long term and we will be fine at this position for the short term - he should be allowed to fully recover and not rushed into playing
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Well viewing the long-term goal has been an issue historically for this fan base. Not accusing anyone in particular, just saying. lol

 - OK, fair enough ...

we really have not had anything much to point to without saying ... hopefully, we're getting better ...

now we have players that are really competing and wanting to be a part of what's happening here PLUS we have guys coaching and managing and, most importantly - staying here and continuing to build and add the pieces

this has all really just taken off the past 2 years and it all comes down to having a plan, knowing what to do and having a great QB

TE is a strength and Davis will be anxious to get his reward ... having a Jordan Reed is just another good example of planning for the future
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

I think it started the moment Dan pursued Mike. This plan has been put in motion from that moment forth. So it's really been, what? 3-4 years? Granted, having a great QB really allows the decision making in years prior to shine. But looking between the lines, the progress was evident. IMHO.

Yep, we have a contingency plan. We'll potentially survive if Davis leaves or doesn't come back to his prior health. To me, its that moves were taken to prevent against disaster. Whether or not it'll work, we won't know for some time. But they made a good move, to future proof the team. It's all you can ask for.

Agreed - Dan going after Mike resulted in the Redskins finally having a FO AND a coaching staff that are all on the same page
as bad as we looked prior to Mike's taking over with Bruce, these 2 have effected a major turnaround
AND ... fortunately Dan has NOT interfered - that's a big PLUS too
the continuity and the stability with the coaching staff has helped a lot - it also seems there's a whole different attitude here now

Jordan Reed could prove to be an exceptional TE but we don't need to rush him or aggravate an injury - ESPECIALLY with a very motivated Fred Davis

 I really am looking forward to seeing and reading posts from fans with something intelligent to offer ....

we have a lot to look forward to this season -

we are the defending NFC East Champs
we have the best HC in the NFC East
we have the best QB and best offense in the NFC East

AND

we have a really good TE that is looking to get a great contract ... here or there

what's not to look forward to?

:schock: - humor us for a little bit, during this very boring part of the season

what exactly is  with regard to Fred Davis "snaps his achilles again"?
