I don't think we would trade him to a division rival.

No.
I did for you.
But I agree the kid is pure class, and that I'll root for him no matter (please not Dallas, please not Dallas, please not NY please not Philthy) where he may wind up. I just want him to be the back up here forever, like Frank Reich in Buffalo
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
AP's injury was devastating and worse than RG3 ...
Dr Andrews did both operations and had the added benefit of time/experience and stem cell use when operating on RG3's knee
I don't doubt that AP has incredible desire to be great but I doubt that RG3's desire to be great is any less
RG3 has had olympic training and I'm sure his preparation and rehab has incorporated many facets of that as well
We are going to see RG3 playing on a stronger knee than he had at the beginning of last season - with the same desire to be great and a whole year's experience
I'm sure Kyle is going to take full advantage of all that

The same source also said that there has not yet been a time or location set for the examination that will determine whether or not the knee is ready for the rigors of training camp, which starts for the Redskins on July 25 in Richmond. Bruce Allen previously said that the physical would take place on the eve of training camp but it could happen sooner than that.

thanks for that - i really think that despite all the indications that 'the knee' is ready for 'contact' - the Redskins (and RG3) are better served by not pushing things
RG3 is going to be better (physically) than he was at his best last season - the stem cells and being able to make the previous operation on this knee better have all been a good thing
we need this kid to be our QB for many years - no need to push it - he's going to push it anyway

Have you guys seen the suspicions that RGIII didn't really tear the ACL? That he tore the LCL, which the graft was used for. The ACL was simply "destabilized" and had maintenance done on it to improve upon the previous surgery. That in addition to the stem cell treatments would help to explain his recovery.

“Robert’s ACL is intact, but not enough for his profession,” Griffin II said in a text message to Jim Corbett of USA Today. “You and I could be fine. But he is an athlete. So they will replace.”
The LCL (one of the lesser known CLs) was torn, and both were reconstructed by Andrews.
Griffin’s father said there was no evidence of the ACL tear on the initial MRIs, which might explain some of the early ambiguity about his condition.
I don't know if that meant the ACL repair was less severe than it might have been otherwise though. Anybody?
Oh wow, I hadn't heard about that before. Strange. But it would totally fit with the story. This guy is looking like he'll be 100% for the first preseason game, at the pace he's had.

Look, I'm not trying to go all conspiracy theory on yall but... Let's have some fun. Who's the HC here? Shanahan. He's one of, if not the most secretive coach in the NFL. It would make perfect sense for him to instruct the franchise to not clear up the murkiness of the injury. Let the media run crazy and blow this out of proportion in effort to garner page hits. Don't deny it, don't acknowledge it directly.
Play Kirk all preseason long. Rex won't touch the field. White is...who know's what White is. But let Kirk play an entire half all preason long. Show him off to the league. Mix some Pat and Rex in for good measure. MAYBE give RGIII one series, maybe two. And then...
Trot a 95%-100% RGIII out onto the field in week 1.

Robert Griffin III addressed the media for the first time on team property since the end of last season Thursday, and as one would expect, he had a lot to say during his 20-minute press conference.
In the first of what surely will be many installments breaking down Griffin's presser (DISCLAIMER: I'm sorry), he shared the experience of his right knee surgery with the throng of reporters that descended upon Ashburn Thursday.
According to RGIII, he actually didn't realize that he had his ACL reconstructed until after he woke up from what was originally scheduled to be LCL surgery.
"The tough part about it honestly was I went into surgery not knowing what was wrong," he said. "I knew I was going to have to get my LCL repaired, but looking at the MRIs and everything, we couldn't really tell if my ACL needed to be repaired. I've been through this before, so I know if you have a patellar tendon graft on the same knee, you can't get it from the same knee, so I knew when I got put to sleep if I woke up and felt my left knee that I had surgery on my ACL.
"So I woke up -- the nurse didn't notice I was up -- and I felt my left leg. I went back to sleep because I didn't want to have to deal with it at that time. And yeah, it's tough for me to talk about it; it's one of the things I get emotional about because it was tough at that time. I woke back up and told everybody who was there in that room with me, and it was tough. That's the easiest way to say it.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had total reconstructive surgery of his right knee early Wednesday morning to repair torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments, but he is expected to be ready for the opener of the 2013 NFL regular season, according to team sources familiar with the determination made by orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews.
The surgery was completed by Wednesday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
Was it a complete tear of the ACL or a complete tear of the graft
Robert Griffin III had surgery Wednesday to repair his torn right lateral collateral ligament and "re-do" the right anterior cruciate ligament he tore in college, according to a statement by the orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, who performed the procedure in Pensacola, Fla.
"Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction," Andrews said in the statement. "We expect a full recovery and it is everybody's hope and belief that due to Robert's high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season.
That sounds like the graft too.

I'm very sure of 2 things - RG3 is NOT playing AT ALL until he's 100% ..
and
RG3's knee will be as strong, if not better than it was last season and he will be a better QB and leader than he was last season
faster and wiser baby

Mmmhhhhmmm... Now you're wondering too.
I'm not just starting to wonder...
The first full report on the surgery said it was the LCL and and damage to the graft that had resulted from the previous ACL.
I knew they weren't saying he had tore his ACL, but...
It made me wonder how they could take a graft from the previously repaired ACL to re-do the graft that was taken to repair the graft that resulted from the first ACL reconstruction.
So I'm not starting to wonder I'm still confused though

You guys are starting to pick the fly poo out of the pepper!
You have to stop and ask yourself what difference does it make if it was the graft our the ACL. And the answer is none.
If the graft failed, you know what they out inpace pace the repair the last ACL tar, them theACL ACL was damaged. Dr. Andrews repairedthey the damage. RZG3's father said that it wasn't a complete tear but thec cdamage damage stillneeded needed to be repaired..
So he had surgery to repair his ACL, it doesn't matter if it was the part of the ACL that used to be in his patella because now it was part of his ACL.
The ACL injury is the part I'm most worried about. The part that concerns me the most is the meniscus damage. Ligaments can be repaired but every injury to cartilage in an decreases the athletes playing life span. Bone to bone contact in a knee = career over.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Robert Griffin III (knee) could follow a training camp schedule similar to Adrian Peterson's from 2012.
Peterson spent the first 16 days of Vikings camp on the PUP list, doing work on the side to prove he was ready to return. AD did not appear in the preseason. It would be far from surprising if the Redskins followed a similar course with RGIII, as they have nothing to gain from him going full blast on day one. We expect him to open camp on active/PUP, from which he can be activated at any time. The rub is, he would then no longer be eligible to begin the season on reserve/PUP.

Dr. James Andrews reportedly will examine Robert Griffin III's surgically-repaired right knee on Wednesday and determine whether the quarterback will be cleared for the Washington Redskins' training camp, which begins Thursday.
A person familiar with the quarterback's recovery from surgery to repair his torn ACL and LCL told The Washington Post that Griffin "feels great" and is running and cutting without pain.
If Dr. Andrews doesn't clear Griffin on Wednesday, the quarterback might begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list, allowing him to strengthen his knee while backup Kirk Cousins takes the first-team snaps.
Griffin has said he expects to be cleared for the start of training camp and participated in the Redskins' offseason workouts. He has said his goal is to be ready to play by Week 1.
In March, Dr. Andrews told ESPN's Stephania Bell that Griffin's recovery has been "unbelievable."
"RG III is one those superhumans. First patient I ever had like that was Bo Jackson. And recently I, of course, had Adrian Peterson, who is also superhuman. They have an unbelievable ability to recover, where as a normal human being may not be able to recover," he said.
Cleared for training camp? Wow. Is this really a possibility or just a formality before placing him on the PUP list?

there is more likelihood that there are ZERO lingering effects from the injury and the operation than what many are still concerned about
The day is fast approaching where most everyone will understand that there is no longer ANY need to be concerned about 'the knee' - praise the Lord
the operation went well and the Dr was also able to make better the previous work done on this knee and then use stem cells to ensure a healthy knee for this season
any and all football players play the game and take the risk of a career ending injury at any time - RG3 is very fortunate that what appeared to be a catastrophic knee injury was NOT and the operation was also able to address an issue from a previous operation that might not have happened and might have caused problems down the road
Soon we will all see that in fact the knee is fully recovered as predicted by Dr Andrews back in March AND RG3's physical condition especially as it regards this knee is actually improved
RG3 will be FASTER & WISER
