Lawsuit commercials
Has anyone else seen the commercials for the Lawsuit being filed against the NFL for showing footage of retired players without their permission? Do you think they have a case? I'm not asking in a legal sense, but rather if you think that they should be paid for the showing of old footage.

Was it in the contract? Was it implied in the contract? I doubt that there is much of a case. Even if they win... the league will simply stop sanctioning the video... or curtail it severely. (for instance, targeted shows, using footage that ONLY shows a single player, or that is edited to severely limit the number of players visible...)
