True. And, he's been helping RGIII and the Captain a LOT.
That kind of confused me at first. I know we started calling Kirk, Captain almost immediately for obvious reasons but nuw that RG3 is a captain I got caught up wondering (for like a second), which captain/Captain you are referring to. Are you talking about RG3 the team captain or the "Captain" of the team, the one that isn't a team captain and not RG3.

Oh captain, my Captain!
Hey, it's an old thread but here is the original post:

For the sake of this poll, suppose RGIII does not play until after the bye - say game #9.

Whom, from among the FAs listed, would you rather have backing up Kirk Cousins?

Reasons would be interesting to see.

Not sure why it's "interesting" - it's actually NOT - it's a stupid poll

of that group only Rex is worth considering

and

BOTH Tavaris Jackson AND Jason Campbell are NEVER playing a down in B&G

the only thing "interesting" about this is who "voted" for Campbell
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I would rather have Tebow............

In all seriousness, Rexy is our #2. He earned it last year.

I would rather have me be our back up than Tim TeBlow. I am not an NFL Quarterback either.

In all seriousness, I agree that Rexy is our #3 behind Capt. Kirk, behind The Man.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

no question that Rex has helped here but I think that's also proof of how good his relationship is with both Kyle & Mike ..

I'd agree that Rex is here for a little longer ...

Rex didn't play last year, and he's #3 at best.

For what it's worth, every guy in the poll was a free agent when the original post was made. They were also generally considered the best free agent QBs available. Rex is one of the least talented among them but he has more value for us than the other guys.

I guess the question now is, come opening day, which QBs will be active?

I'll take it one step further ....
OPENING DAY - my guess is that RG3 will be starting at QB, Kirk Cousins will be the #2 QB and Rex Grossman will be #3 QB and inactive for the game

I meant #2 behind KC (if RGIII had been out). He's been with the team long enough and helped the rookies come along nicely --- that's why I said he earned it. But since RGIII appears to be back, he'll take on the #3/non-active slot he had last year.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
