I remember him bein an undersized DE prospect out of Va Tech, He could get to the qb then, seems like it was a long time ago though.

I've never heard of him either. You guys think this is more of a depth pick, or is this guy generally considered a quality starter?

It'll be a depth move. Play linebacker maybe DE. He was good with Seattle. Not so good with Philly, but what defender was good with them recently? He'll contribute for us. I like the pickup.

Wonder if it was insurance for the recent suspensions. Either way, I hope he tears it up in DC!!

Is this Darryl Tapp? If so isn't he the one that Chester and Trent said took a cheap shot at Lichensteiger's knee when he blew it out against the Eagles back in 2011? I thought I read something like that but I could be wrong.

Here's the interview from espn 980:

http://www.stationcaster.com/player_ski ... &f=1242221

He's from the area and is a Redskin fan.

Redskins agreed to terms with OLB Darryl Tapp, formerly of the Eagles, on a one-year contract.

Tapp, 28, recorded 13 tackles and a half-sack in 13 games with the Eagles last season, but he played in just 257 defensive snaps while acting as the fifth or sixth defensive end. The seven-year veteran has 24 career sacks, and he'll be solid veteran depth behind injury-prone Brian Orakpo at the pass-rushing outside linebacker spot. Tapp is also a plus run defender. no doubt in my mind - Tapp was added to provide depth AND play Special Teams :D
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

This is a good pickup. Darryl Tapp is one of those shorter guys who can get under Tackles and get to the QB in spot duty. He was mismatched in the 4-3 with the wide nine gimmick that the Eagles use. He will be a guy who can come in and rush the passer in a limited role. Good pickup.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

What A. Schefter said. "....seven-year veteran has 24 career sacks, and he'll be solid veteran depth behind injury-prone Brian Orakpo at the pass-rushing outside linebacker spot. Tapp is also a plus run defender. "
