Shanahan's 3/20/13 Press Conference Highlights

Post by HTTRRG3ALMO »

Good stuff in here; some good news (optimism on Helu, hopeful of re-signing Davis), little bit of bad news (Carriker had a late season rehab setback):

Two interesting notes:

MarkMaske @MarkMaske
Shanahan said the Redskins never reduced their contract offer to departed free agent Lorenzo Alexander.

Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell
Shanahan: The salary cap situation has intensified the Redskins-Giants rivalry for me, personally.

I know I saw that...strange to say the least.

Also liked Shanny's comment about the cap space talks had "very strong feelings" lol wonder what juicy words were created during that meeting.

From the last comment, he obviously thinks Mara was behind it, so he should have some choice words for Goodell about being Mara's toady.

This suggests that, given any opportunity, the Giants can anticipate two beatings at the hands of the Redskins in '13... I don't think you'll see Shanny sitting on a lead...

yep...I bet we keep the hammer down for a full 60 against them both games.

Mara has to be getting that tightening feeling in his stomach, knowing that his team is aging and the 'skins are still developing their full potential.

I would love for the NFL to schedule our first game of the season at Fedex against the giants
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I wonder what his rally cry will be...

He'd essentially be telling someone on the roster that they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the Giants.

More like, we'd have given you a better contract if it wasn't for the Giants.

Yeah it would kinda disconcerting if he said "MEN!! Look around you...look at the man on your left and the man on your right. If it wasn't for the Giants, you would be standing next to a much better player. Lets make em pay!!!"
