CB EJ Biggers signs with Skins

Post by spudstr04 »

During his press conference today at the Owner's Meetings, Shanahan told media that the Skins have signed a DB that they were targeting earlier in FA.

@granthpaulsen: Mike Shanahan says the #Redskins have signed one of the DB's they targeted in free agency. It will be announced later.

My guess is EJ Biggers from Tampa Bay. May be a re-signing of DeAngelo or Cedric Griffin, but doubt it.

It's Champ Bailey.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

LOL love the wording. Should have added in "lying, deceitful, manipulative @$$ troll"

Hope it is Hall though...or someone better (if any such players are still available).

He might end up just being depth. I've been reading he has a lot of inconsistency issues, but a lot of potential.

Isn't he a big corner as well?

I can't decide if I want his jersey or his hair. Seeing as I'm a mid-forties white guy, I couldn't have his hair unless it were rainbow colored and I kept popping up in all your photos holding religious signs.

Alright! EJ Biggers. Let the overreactions commence!!! I'll go first:

YES! With Josh Wilson/EJ Biggers we now have the premier CB duo in the NFC East if not the entire league.

Haha! Maybe not, but we do have one more half decent cornerback than we had yesterday. Unless John Mara finds a way to cancel the deal.

Yeah I changed my mind on this too.

WTF was Shanahan thinking??? This guy stinks or at least I have never heard of him before and we let D. Hall go and we didn't sign Talib with miracle money from heaven!!! I predict we are going 1-15 solely on the basis of this atrocious travesty of free agent bungling. We may never win again. Somebody get Bill Cowher on the phone now before its too late!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

Report: E.J. Biggers agrees to deal with Redskins
By Evan Hilbert | CBSSports.com
March 20, 2013 12:07 pm ET

The Washington Redskins and free-agent cornerback E.J. Biggers have agreed to a deal, according to multiple reports.

Biggers spent the first four years of his career in Tampa Bay, after the team drafted him in 2009. He was on injured reserve for the majority of his rookie season and debuted in '10. Biggers had 51 tackles and an interception last season with the Bucs.

Opinions vary in terms of how Biggers will be used by Washington, but his best asset is his speed, and the Redskins need corners. The team released veteran DeAngelo Hall a couple of weeks ago.

Biggers also has experience with the Washington coaching staff, as Redskins assistant Raheem Morris was Biggers' head coach in Tampa.

Biggers was a Top 20 corner per Pro Football Focus. Ran a 4.32 forty at his Pro Day. Maybe he can develop into a solid CB. He's only 25.

Wonder what he could do as a KR/PR and depth CB (if not a starter)?
