Had Richard Sherman's four-game suspension been upheld last week, the Seattle Seahawks cornerback would be watching Sunday's playoff matchup against the Washington Redskins from his couch.
Sherman's suspension was overturned after an arbiter ruled the collection procedure was compromised by a leaky specimen cup. When Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander was asked Friday if Sherman should be on the field this weekend, teammate Kedric Golston leaned over from his locker and interjected himself into the conversation.
"He's a cheater," Golston told USA Today before walking away.
Following Golston's hit-and-run, Alexander gave a response that, while more measured, told you where he stood on the matter.
"It is what it is," Alexander said. "I don't know what his total case and background of it is, or about the paperwork he did. He was doing Adderall, Ritalin, the same thing that (Redskins cornerback) Cedric (Griffin) was doing, I believe. I know there's a (testing) procedure you have to do, and even then, they can still hit you for it. It is what it is."
Griffin served a four-game PED suspension that concluded Sunday.
The Redskins would be far better off this weekend if Sherman were missing in action. The second-year pro has emerged as one of the game's best young corners, and with Brandon Browner back from his own PED suspension, Robert Griffin III will be throwing into a dangerous Seahawks secondary playing at full strength.

No, we would NOT.
I want to beat Seattle WITH Sherman.
No excuses whatsoever.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

+1
I am furious with the NFL for the way they have handled some of these issues recently and I feel that this player got away with a technicality ...
whatever - this Redskins team is NOT winning or losing this game because of 1 player or a couple of players playing for either team
The result of this game WILL BE decided by the team that executes the best NOT by the players (OR fans) that make the most STUPID trash talk
Sherman and Browner are VERY good players but they are NOT 'classy' players by any means
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I don't understand how a leaky specimen cup invalidated the positive test. Hell, Sherman probably took a pin into the john with him and poked holes in the cup. Every player should do the same when tested in the future, if there is any possibility of getting a positive result.
And why don't they just retest him? I doubt he's stopped using.

Yeah, I heard Sherman on NFL radio yapping about how he had been vindicated and he wasn't surprised because he was completely innocent. What a crock.
I don't think these guys should be getting suspended for ADD meds in the first place, but there is no question he was using the same meds that these other guys were using and got off on a technicality.

Are you suggesting that it was Mara that poked the holes in the cup???? It's all coming together now!
