All it's gonna take is one hit, or twisting that knee just the wrong way and RGIII could be done for the rest of the season. The Skins will need him for sure vs Dallas, but I think the Skins could easily handle the Fecals with Cousins playing. Why risk ending our season with a devistating injury to RGIII when they could easily give the knee another week to heal? He's healed. Why not hold him out of every game for the rest of his career, since he's always one play away from a career ending injury? Sheesh!
No sprain, I don't care how minor, completely heals in 2 weeks. He may very well be able to come out and play full bore without a hitch, but why risk everything just to play him against a reeling Eagles team that Cousins could easily handle?
"No sprain completely heals in 2 weeks". I believe that, too, and that's the point.
Well, Shanahan has made his decision. Here's hoping.
I also think RG3 is rushing it. I commend him for wanting to play but at the same time if he isn't 90 to 100 percent why risk it? 2 weeks from a knee sprain is really soon.
However I must say that I tore my ACL and it took me 6 months to be able to run again. It was about a year later that I would be able to physically and mentally run. That was with no reconstruction of the ACL. I would occasionally sprain my knee playing basketball. It would take me about a week and a half to heal up and play again.
Then I got a reconstruction of the ACL about seven years after the initial injury. That took me 9 months to be able to run, jump and sprint. I havent sprained my knee since its been ten years.
I guess what I am saying is in my experience(I am no orthopedist) is that once youve tore your knee up once. A sprain is kind of a light injury and your better able to handle it both physically and mentally.
Now that I think of it I think he will be fine. Sort of torn on this issue. Oh heck Hail to the Redskins let go get this one!

NO thanks. RG3 is a baller, and ballers play. He's healed up, young and he heals quick.
Even those who are 100% "healthy" can get twisted and hurt and be out for the year. This boy will not have "fear" dictate his game. You Go RG3

If he does start, I hope he plays it safe. We can not risk him getting injured especially when we will SO need him for the cowboys game. I would rather have him play against the Cowboys than the Eagles. We could easily beat the Eagles with Cousins. Like I said in my previous post, we can always put RG3 in if things get ugly.tribeofjudah wrote:grampi wrote:I know every game is a must win now, but I'm not crazy about RGIII starting vs the Fecals. No RG3 should play the full game.....after a big lead just give the ball to alfred morris....stop trying to put the guy in a glass....
