Had a great time.....

Post by SkinsChic »

:D
Had a great time at camp over the weekend. I really enjoyed seeing Mark and Taz again...they are the best !!! Also had the pleasure of meeting NC43Hog, DEhog, Brandon, RedskinFreak, NikiH, Jansenfan, Jackson, Warmother, Hailskins666, Amy, SkinsfanRoanoake, Sherri and Wes. Enjoyed meeting everyone. Sorry we left so abrubtly but the monsoon pretty much gave us no choice. What a ride home....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

We're hoping to make the trip back to camp on Friday but we need to see if Jake can reschedule his Thursday hours which right now are LATE - meaning no sleep before leaving at 6 a.m. Friday.

I was happy to see the players so intense. They really "want" to work for Coach Gibbs. He's also as wonderful as I remember when he was here before. He kept thanking the fans for being there....What a guy !!

I got some great pics....and hope to be able to post some in the gallery when Boss gets back home.

Okay....I'm done rambling...just wanted to say thehogs.net is a very special place for me.

Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Awww....thanks. We enjoyed Brandon. He's a great kid. I got my pics back and there's one of Brandon and Ricky Ervins and another of him and Gibron Hamden (sp ?). We are hoping to make the trip on Friday...but again..that depends on Jake getting his schedule changed.

We may be bringing my son in law who by the way is a BEARS fan. But he's a good guy. We love him....although when I went to see my granddaughter last nite I saw this Navy Blue and Orange Cheerleader outfit hanging there in her size. I said...she's NOT going to WEAR THAT IS SHE ??? I'm thinking it might just disappear the next time Grandma babysits.

Oh yes....His present was all wrapped in a birthday gift bag....gave him a thehogs.net tee-shirt and a card. Have a picture of him with his birthday bag on his arm. Jake also gave Chris the same thing for his belated birthday 7/28.

Likewise, a pleasure at this end. Camp is always a great time. I just have to balance the conversation with getting a good eyeful of the practice.

I too left for home in the monsoon. I had half an idea that they might come back out but, like you, I had half a Beltway to contend with.

And now today, my plans to make the 2:00 practice are down the flusher. I needed to have new pins put in the hinges of my car's driver's-side door. Was SUPPOSED to have been done yesterday!

Oh well, this couch-potato physique probably couldn't have handled another 90-90 day (which it's supposed to be). This weekend, though, looks absolutely perfect. (Alas, it's back to work for me ....)

We enjoyed meeting you guys as well. Jake is an outstanding young man, and I would imagine you had a lot to do with that. I am sure we will see you guys at a game this year, but if not we will definately run into you at camp next year. This site is awesome! No where else would you find such an ecclectic group of people all hanging out together.

Skinschic, were you at last years camp? Can you give us a comparison between last year and this year? Anything that stands out and grabs you about how different it is? I'd be curious to know the difference. I can only imagine!

Sounds like you had a great time. I am sorry I missed the fun. Maybe next year, since I won't be able to make it out to F.A.D. on Sat.
Back and better than ever!

Yes...I was there last year also...actually this is mine and Jake's 13th Training Camp in a row....so we've pretty much seen it all. There were a couple of big differences from last year to this year...

1. The fans.....way more than last year.

2. The players....you can tell they all want to work hard and play hard for Coach Gibbs.

3. Coach Gibbs...he actually SIGNS autographs and THANKS THE FANS for coming out. Spurrier never came NEAR the fans.

4. Last year they made you wait in a line in your car before they would let you in to the park at 9:00 or so. This year...cars were parked and people standing in line out to the road to get in to the park at 8:30 or so.

5. Home Depot had kids building birdhouses while the practice was going on ... not sure if all that hammering was a DISTRACTION to the players or not....haven't heard anything from the coach on that one. HA !

Next year.....I hope they move camp back to Carlisle - of all the places....Carlisle and Frostburg were the best. Carlisle being first though.

Jansen Fan....thanks for the compliment on Jake. I do pride myself on the way he's turned out as I've raised him by myself since he was 2. He's a real good kid...I'm lucky to have him.
