LaVar's head
Everyone knows that Arrington his one tough SOB. But man how many concussions can this guy take? I think he has had three in his first 3 years and had a mild one yesterday. This could be a problem that eventually could end his career way to early, hopefully it doesnt come down to that though.
pain goes away, but pride last forever.

Thats what the post was worried about today
The article in the times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/sports/2 ... -8524r.htm) was worried about the same thing. The scary part is that he is going to be in a more of a free range capacity this year than last.
On the one hand I think this will be good for us in that LaVar should be even more dominating. This is necessary due to our shacky interior Dline. On the other hand, you don't want LaVar to be an invalid by the time he's 50 due to getting whacked too many times. If he gets two more major ones, I wouldn't be surprised to hear talk of retiring.

... well I don't know how much truth there is to it, but Lavar categoricaly told me that HE DID NOT HAVE A CONCUSSION!
He said that he took a rap to the head, but that he was resting his achilles as much as anything else... and that he was not concussed. I don't know who you're supposed to believe in situations like this, but most of the guys are pretty candid when you ask them point blank.
I hate to see a player get into trouble later in life because of stupidity during his career too... but at least they monitor it now.
How many concussions do you think a guy like Dick Butkus had during his playing career? Do you think he would have even considered coming out of the game? It's a fine line between courageous and stupid.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
Good point about Butkus, Boss.
Lavar will tell you that when he was laying down in the locker room after the Carolina concussion he had the words of Sam Huff in his head. When he recalled a discussion they had about toughness and the linebacker position, he got his butt up -- came out and turned the entire season around in 2001. That is what old linebackers were made of and Lavar is out of the same mold.
