That's a big probably. The Steelers and Falcons just got their butts handed to them by the Chargers and Panthers respectively.

No excuses for the Steelers, but the Falcons lost to a division rival on the road. They play the G-strings at home, where they rarely lose.

I can't stand the Falcons and I think they're way overrated this season. They should have lost to the Panthers AT HOME earlier this season, except for a ridiculous, late Cam Newton fumble. Either way, I hope they spank the Giants on Sunday. The one thing we don't want to see is NY start to get on a roll this month.

If we had RGIII the whole second half, we would have beat them IMHO.

No doubt. But Atlanta is a better team than people think. They will handle the G-strings this weekend.

Forget CHI; if we win, and ATL beats NYG, we control our destiny for the East

We probably need to catch CHI or NYG. Catching Seattle is tougher.

The Wild Card

The Seahawks (8-5) can't punch their ticket to the postseason in Week 15, but they can get one foot in the door by beating Buffalo.

Trailing Seattle and Chicago in the Wild Card standings are Minnesota, Dallas and Washington, who are all sitting at 7-6. The Seahawks have head-to-head wins over Minnesota and Dallas (plus Chicago), which is good news if you're a Seahawks fan. If the Seahawks were to finish in a 3- or even 4-way tie that involved Chicago, Dallas and/or Minnesota, the Seahawks would get a playoff berth.

Minnesota and Chicago both still have to play NFC North leader Green Bay (9-4), so the Packers will have definitely have a say in how the conference playoff race shakes out.

Washington seems to be the biggest threat, the Redskins have won four in a row and in the next two weeks, they play Cleveland and Philadelphia. However, with Robert Griffin III hobbled, neither of those games is a lock. The Redskins close the season with Dallas, which is actually good news for Seattle because the loser of that game will likely finish on the outside looking in.

The Seahawks didn't play the Redskins this season, so if the two teams finished in a tie for a Wild Card berth, the tiebreaker would be best winning percentage in conference games. Both teams are currently 6-4 in the NFC, with two remaining. The Seahawks still have to play the Rams and 49ers -- both at home, while the Redskins travel to Philadelphia and host Dallas.

If the Redskins and Seahawks tie in conference games, the next tiebreaker would be winning percentage against common opponents. Washington and Seattle have four common opponents this season -- Dallas, Minnesota, St. Louis and Carolina -- the Seahawks are currently 3-1 against that foursome, while Washington is 2-2. Seattle still has a game left against St. Louis, while the Redskins still have to play Dallas.

Bottom line: The easiest path to the playoffs for the Seahawks is a 2-1 finish in the final three games. The Seahawks being left out of the playoffs at 10-6 would involve the Bears winning out AND either the Redskins or Cowboys winning out also. The Bears close with Green Bay, Arizona and Detroit while Dallas closes with Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Washington.

I think, think I'd rather this team go on the road to play its first playoff game. Somehow, I think it is easier for a team like ours to focus on the road then at home. Then again, seeing the 2nd playoff game ever at Fed Ex Field would be sort of cool, to say the least.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I would love Atlanta to win but I'm going to pick the g-strings because I'm hoping it puts a hex on them

PLUS

that new RB the g-strings have is going to be really good and he's fast

we're going to have to win out and hope the ravens really need that game next week
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The Falcons are trying for home field throughout the playoffs. This is an important game for them too.

If we ONLY lose to Cleveland then all we need is for the g-strings to lose to Atlanta & Baltimore - we still win the division

I do like Atlanta but that stupid NY team is playing well and will be tough in Atlanta

I do think the ravens take them down in MD

Not so. We lose this week and they win, we both win next week, we're 8-7, they're 9-6 going into Week 17. We win then, we have the same record but have the tiebreaker :D

That is only if we beat Philly AND Dallas (which you eluded to). Those are 2 divisional games. They are far from gimmees. And the Dallas matchup could very well be a "winner makes playoffs/takes division" scenario.

I think that if anyone beats NYG, it's the Falcons. BAL is in disaray. They could VERY EASILY lose their remaining 3 games vs. DEN, NYG, and @ CINCY.

We need to win out AND get help --- plain & simple.

Because if CHI loses to GB (which I think is very likely) and we beat CLE --- we control our own destiny for the remainder of the season.

ALL the Redskins need to do is just WIN this game

the way this season has gone there is no way that any of the top 20 teams cannot lose each and every week - happens all the time

all we need to do is win this game - ONLY the fans are looking at the possibilities - the players are ONLY focused on this game, this week

Ray Lewis coming back will be an emotional lift. I don't see the Ravens losing after they lose Sunday to Peyton and the Bronco's..........My biggest concern is if the Steelers will win in Dallas..........

Totally agree.

As fans we have that luxury. If the players did what we're are doing --- they'd be in trouble.

For them it's one game at a time. I just hope that is what they are doing and not just what they are saying they are doing.

Solid point. Ray coming back will be huge for them.

I do really hope they lose to DEN this sunday. That way, they will NEED the NYG game.

DAL is not the worry. We currently control their destiny. Regardless, I am pretty confident DAL will win that game.

This weekend, we want:
1. NYG to lose to ATL,
2. CHI to lose to GB, and
3. WAS to beat CLE

If these things happen, we are in the drivers seat moving forward.

I'm still amazed that we are talking playoffs this time of the year. The past xx seasons we had been talking about the draft. IMHO the main reason is Snyder being hands off football operations.
My best case scenario right now: cowturds game is a winner take all game.

THIS GAME is the winner take all game

Haslett just needs to find a way to LIMIT a Brandon Wheeden led offense

Mike and Kyle will figure out the rest ... :D

You might be right on that. The Seahawks' last three games are tougher than I thought. They should beat the Bills, but that is an away game and probably cold weather. Then they have the 49ers and Rams.
