I think he will be back and he will stretch the chains for us. He has to be really rusty though. Going to take a little time.

This would be a smart move IMO. Cooley knows this offense. If he's healthy and if he's in shape, I say bring the brutha back.

I DVRed the game (but unfortunately know the results) I just saw FD go down, how bad is he.

Anyone know?

If it is gif term you almost have to bring Cooley back. Where is the invisible man; Niles Paul?

Cooley could easily bump Niles Paul, but I think Logan Paulsen would and should get the start. Paulsen seems to have good chemistry with RG3 in the passing game, and we should build on that.

Cooley would be a (very good) band aid for the remainder of the season.

I could be wrong but I am not counting on Niles Paul to make that clutch catch.

The team is snakebit. One key season-ending injury after another.

It's being reported that the Redskins reached out to Cooley and the terms of the contract are being worked out as we speak. Expect him to be in Redskins Park for practice this week.

I hate that the quote is from JLC (shudder), but...
Cooley has remained in the Washington area, working out and hoping to resume his career, ideally with the Redskins.

I like Logan too. He can be the future "cooley".

Logan & Chris as a 2 TE set.........that's nice

I was a little put back by his ego. I'd ask him some hard questions if he's found a little humility before pulling the trigger given that 31 other teams have passed on him. I'm surprised to be saying that after his tenure here, but I was shocked at some of his statements reflecting a complete lack of a grasp of reality of his situation.

From the Bleacher:

Cooley is only a few months removed from the organization. He knows the offense and could be plugged in right away. It should be noted that he was only released because he wanted to be a starter and Washington was committed to having Davis start at tight end.

Now that the starting hurdle has been cleared, the two sides should reach a quick agreement and have Cooley at the facility on Tuesday.

Washington has a supremely winnable game at Pittsburgh in Week 8. In order to put their best foot forward, the Skins need to get the most talented and knowledgeable replacement they can for Davis.

And they know just where to find him.

Sucks it had to come this way, but at least Chris will be on the team when we win the SB this year.

You haven't been following the league this year huh. The Raiders and Jets both reached out to him. If I remember correctly Dallas also offered him contract. Cooley turned down all 3 teams and I'm sure there were more offers given the rash of injuries at the position. I wouldn't be shocked if he and the expected him to be back at some point anyways this year. Maybe post bye week.
