Ryan Grant signs with Skins

Post by spudstr04 »

@JasonLaCanfora RB Ryan Grant is signing with Redskins after mulling offers from multiple teams. Worked out for Bears before deciding.

I guess Hightower's knee is still bum.

With both Royster & Helu dinged up, Redskins need help from somewhere

I saw Royster go down, wich sucks cuz I'm sure he would have gotten the nod soon.. Hope our back field can stay healthy, and this looks like some goof insurance...
BUT I'd prefer some bodies for the OL or safety over another RB. Maybe he plays rb, special teams, AND Safety lol

The problem with finding good insurance at OL, S, or RB is there really isn't any available. If they were any good they would be on a team.

Grant is out of work for a reason. Unless Royster or Helu is going to be side lined for more than a couple of weeks then this signing makes no sense.

Who is getting cut to bring in Grant?

I was wondering why he he'd barely been playing. Maybe he's been nursing an injury already

My thoughts, as well. If nothing else, strengthen the OL so RG3 doesn't get mashed before the rest of the team has grown up around him.

If this keeps up, I want the Redskins to adopt the Prevent (Injury) Defense...bench RG3 to save his life.

Really wish we hadn't wasted our one 8wk IR spot on Sundberb! It would have been a nice option for Helu.

How exactly was it a waste? Last I had checked, he'll be back and playing at long snapper again, correct?

You're frakin with me, right?
You can't be serious!

Just incase you aren't messing me, it is pretty simple. I think it is a waste because we found a replacement long snapper and have you seen any difference?

I would rather have Helu back than Sundberg!

I know you like to be a wise donkey, but come on!

Special teamers like a long snapper only need to make one mistake for their presence to be felt very painfully.

Suppose we had placed Sunderberg on regular IR but then never used the spot on another player like Helu. And then sometime late in the season we had one or two bad snaps on FG attempts or on a punt. No doubt people would be talking about how idiotic the team was for putting Sunderberg on IR when he could have returned, and meanwhile we never used the spot, etc.

My point is that this complaint is nearly 100% the benefit of hindsight talking. Maybe you are someone who thinks those insights are useful, but I can't take them too seriously.

Helu was never healthy since training camp....too bad, I like what he did last year.
