Because our defense is horrendous. We had a better chance to recover that onside than we did of stopping them. And, that's sad.

They got the stop by the grace of Marvin Lewis running 3 straight times. The on-side kick was the right call, imo. Just because they got the stop doesn't change that. At any rate, even if it wasn't the right call there are so many other issues that stick out and coaching-wise, the challenge on the punt that burnt the last time out was more crucial.

Um, we did stop them. They punted. Our ball at the 2 rather than the 42.

The challenge was the right call. The play should have been overturned. The ball never touched the goal line.

Dude get a grip. You ask weak questions then get emotional about the answer to it. I don't know what game you watched but the DEFENSE SUCKED.
That's why you go onside. DUH

The question's not weak, and where do you see me get emotional? Too much time to kick onsides, even with a sucky D.

The question is weak because it's clear that this defense had trouble stopping them. And, we didn't have any more time outs. So giving them the ball with no time outs was risky even if we got the ball back it would be with little time and no time outs.
You got emotional with the "emotion face" LOL
Rolling eyes?? HAHA

We had the 2:00 warning still, and more time than they could run off with 2 plays before that. Very poor clock management. And we did get the ball back, with no timeouts, and yet plenty of time to march the length of the field. If we had not been pinned at the 2, we score a TD in that situation and tie the game.

Everyone knows that I don't sugar coat anything, so why start now.
#1 - Mike Shanahan is now 12-23 as the Redskin HC. That's 3 games worse than Jim Zorn, (12-20) who was laughed out of town after being publicly castrated by the front office and relegated to the Head Clipboard holder for the 2nd half of his 2nd season.
#2 - Mike Shanahan has won 1 division title in the last 12 years (2005). His claim to fame came in 1997-1998. But over the past 5 seasons 3 with denver @500 ... he is 11 games under 500 including season 3 with the Redskins. That gets everyone fired .... Denver fired him for going 500 for three seasons.
#3 - His Son, Kyle has been worse .... with questionable play calling and a totally inept offense for the first two seasons ... this year, he seems ready to use his world class QB like a pack mule, and grind him right into the ground. And RG3 is the ONLY REASON this putrid offense has been successful. At the current rate, RG3 won't even be on the field by game 10, if this idiot continues to use him as a battering ram. This beating the kid is taking takes me back to when Patrick Ramsey was close to being a murder victim because of the "Old Ball Coach", Spurrier. And after Josh Morgan's bone headed personal foul at the end of last week's game, Kyle Shanahan does the same thing this week, as he draws a 20 yard penalty for going into a profanity laced tirade at an official. He will also likely to be sanctioned by the league this week, since the NFL sent out a letter to all teams this past week warning that such behavior toward the replacement refs will not be tolerated and be dealt with harshly. How do you convince your players to maintain composure, when the coach can't?
#4 - The defense ... who freaking knows what the heck is going on there. Is it a coincidence that we hire a new secondary coach and the secondary looks like they couldn't stop DeMatha high school? It seems that we now have no one who can cover decent to good receivers, and it's pitch and catch and back breaking big plays two, three, and four times per game.
#5 - Special Teams has been questionable with two blocked punts in the first 2 games
Bottom line is that this team is undisciplined and inconsistent, and other than the rookie QB, everything else is a crap shoot week to week. The coaching staff ... offense and defense seems to be totally out coached, out-strategized, and out prepared as witnessed the past two weeks as we have been totally run over in the first half of these games by opponents who seem to know exactly what to do against us.
Almost singlehandedly, RG3 has found a way to keep these games competitive. Without RG3, the last two weeks would have been total blow outs by average teams. Unfortunately, a lot of the success on offense is coming from running college formations, and not Kyle's standard offense, with this double and triple option that RG3 keeps getting pounded on unmercifully almost every time. 6 sacks, 13 hits, and 12 runs just today. This is total insanity .... but par for the course given the previous mishandling of 3 other QBs in two seasons ... now Kyle Shanahan seems ready to literally sacrifice RG3's body in his quest to put some sort of functional offense on the field.
Whatever success the Redskins may realize with RG3 at the helm, it will be in spite of, and not because of the Shanahan clan. Dumb and Dumber have to go. Poor decision, poor clock management, and being out coached and and out-game-planned most weeks, and a putrid 11 games under 500 would get Vince Lombardi fired. A reputation that has 12 years of dust covering it does not justify giving this coaching staff a hall pass.

At this rate RGIII will not last the season. Our personnel weakness is the OL and our strategy weakness is the defense.
This might seem weird but some of this is caused by our inability to sign more FAs this offseason. Our ROT and now LOT positions are way below par.
The defensive schemes are laughable. We have our corners laying off a good 10-12 yards and the opposing QBs for 2 weeks in a row are killing us.
RGII has the heart of a lion. We can't afford to lose him. Something has to change with our defensives schemes NOW. We must keep the opposition to below 21 points. Time for a shakeup with our D coaches.

No secondary.
Poor OL.
Terrible defensive game plan.
How long before our brand new QB ends up in the hospital?
And people were saying that we were alright at OL and there were only a few "questions" about our secondary.
I do not think I have seen a worse Redskins defense in my entire life as a Skins fan going back to 1969.
This is EMBARRASSING.
Somebody MUST be accountable for this mess.
