Haslett made adjustments, and it showed in the 2nd qtr. The defense...when pressed, came up big in this game at the end.

The defense gave up 8 on short field
They were probably in zone for a reason...Amendola could of had an even bigger game against man to man.

Shannahan was irate over the no ten second run off at the end of the first half for the holding call...which, would have not given them the time to kick the field goal...which was the difference in the game.

The D did not come up big at game's end. The Ram were stupidly trying to run out the clock when they could have easily scored again by passing. At the start of the season I said the D was overrated and we would have to score mucho points to compensate. Was I right? This team cannot defend against the pass. Cannot. Also, the field goal attempt on our last possession was unbelievably stupid. Shanny took RG3 off the field when he was our only real chance. Is it just me, or does it seem we don't have an outstanding receiver when Garcon is not around. Moss is through. Morgan showed subhuman intelligence, Hankerson almost dropped the TD pass and Aldrick blew a score when he dropped that bomb. Hasl hast to go.

No question about it. He took some heavy shots especially before his interception.

apparently you didnt see eli throw for half a grand today. the redskins run a gimmick offense. its a fake pitch here, run the qb on an option here, run a fake reverse and throw deep there.

ive not seen a lot of drop back and read the defense and throw it 20 yards downfield yet. ive seen lots of tricks, gimmicks, qb runs, and screen passes though.

and last place is last place. regardless of who is playing QB. Washington is at home in the standings!

If you can go back and look, some of those "shots" should have been personal fouls.

Why exactly did we franchise Davis again? Is he sucking, or is he just not part of the game plan?

Just wanted to stop in and say that this loss isn't hard to take...

Our team competed, they had a chance to win, that's better than years past. #progress

You have colder blood in your veins than me, my friend. It is crushingly hard to see our offence finally delivering an NFL product after years of utter futility, only to see our defence and special teams produce two lousy performances to start the season. Not so long ago, many of us were saying that the offence only needs to score an average of 21 points per game to deliver the win - our defence always held up its end of the deal. Now, the offence seems to need to score 35+. It's dispiriting.

And yet, the play of RGIII is the great shining light in yesterday's game. Again, he was mature beyond his years, made play after play after play. A couple of bad throws, but really he was excellent and deserved the win.

The defeat is very hard to take. But I'm going to put my burgundy tinted spectacles back on, and look forward to next week. There's NO WAY we can lose to the Bengals at home, IS THERE????

I'm not saying I'm indifferent but that, I've seen worse from this team. LOL Morgan lost his composure, he seemed very contrite about it. This team can compete and I'm just happy. It's the start of a new era, we're two games into this and there's no reason to get too bent out of shape.

This is the second game of his rookie campaign. I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride but I'm looking forward to year 2 and 3. Thats when I expect things to really click.

Well, the defense did spot us a TD on the game's first play, got an INT in the end-zone, and got the ball back on a turnover in the waning minutes, after Robinson dropped what would have been the game winning TD. Shannies decision to "ice" the kicker at the end of the first half, then try a 62 yarder, rather than see if RGIII could convert 4th and 17, were mistakes that also cost us a chance to win. This is a team game, and we lost that one as a team. I know it seems like the same old Skins, but it's not. We are still going to win more than we lose. Everything will be alright.

True, I had neglected the fact that 7 of our points weren't scored by the offence. True, the defence made three huge plays. True, Robinson dropped a deep pass that was right on target. So, why do I have the overwhelming feeling that our offence has taken several steps forward this year, but our defence has taken several MORE steps back?

I didn't have any problem with Shanahan's icing decision, but trying the 62 yarder DID seem entirely counter intuitive to me. But I'm less concerned about what Shanahan did in week 2 than I am about what he does leading into week 3. The team has been ill disciplined in the first two games, and that MUST be stamped out.

As for special teams - well, if players can't learn to make sure they aren't leaving a man unblocked before setting off downfield to cover, then they're either morons, or the coach is doing a lousy job. Time will tell.

The biggest question mark has to be Haslett though. That was an abject defensive gameplan that didn't appear to be adjusted when it became clear that it wasn't working. And if the obvious replacement for Haslett was supposed to be Raheem Morris, then his DBs certainly didn't cover themselves in glory either - in fact, they didn't cover ANYTHING.

It might sound like I'm suicidal, lol. I'm actually still positive, almost entirely due to RGIII. But the defence and special teams bother me a lot right now. A lot of what is wrong seems to be down to coaching, and that isn't going to change in a hurry.

I'll stick with 7-9 prediction for this year. After last week, I felt I was being pessimistic, but this week has reinforced my faith in my own prediction!

With Cundif's percentage on 50 yard kicks 1 out of 6 last year. 2 out of 13 since 2003, you are better off with RGIII at 4th and 16. Plus you also have the added chance of a roughing the passer which is a better pct than Cundif making a 50 yrd FG let alone a 62 yarder. He has the leg but for some reason, he can't even get it close.

You also have the chance of the Rams, who were playing dirty and getting lots of hits on RGIII all day, pinning their ears back and injuring Griffin.

Nonsense. The game was on the line. You don't worry about the possibility of injury when the game is on the line. This is football. There is always the possibility of injury.

I'm not insanely upset about this game. Everybody on here was warning last week that the Rams could beat us. I think my words were that Jeff Fisher is a good coach, and he is going to have his team prepared to play.

Personally I was just REALLY disappointed with the defense. I'm not smart enough to know if you blame the players or Haslett, but I suspect it was the latter. Letting Amendola take over a game like that was just flat out embarrassing.

It's true that no one play "loses" a game, but one play can cost you a game. You gave another good example of that. It was beyond bonehead, it was selfish and unprofessional to screw his own team like that. Every team tries to get in your head like that, particularly in critical moments. How many of hudreds of players have played for the Redskins the last couple decades and the only one I can remember doing that to us was LaVar "Me first" Arrington with Helmetgate.

I thought the odds of a first down were way better then a 62 yard field goal. I agree injury wasn't Shannahan's concern, but I thought he didn't want to put that play on Griffin yet.

I am unhappy, but not disspirited. Our defense does not play zone very well. Tight man worked last week and on the rare occassion it was employed yesterday, in my observation. We have a QB who did everything you could ask to set up a come from behind win. We didn't fall short on the talent end, offensively, but on the stupidity factor. The AWFULersatz-officiating didnt help much. Toward the end, it seemed like the Ram defenders realized that they werent going to get flagged and took a lot of cheap shots.

I wasn't watching much of the 4th quarter. How many yards shy was the
62 yard fg attempt? Or was it even going towards the goal posts?

I think it was closer to landing on Mike Shanahan than it was to going through the posts....

My thoughts on the game is this we competed for 60mins on offense had some 3 & outs we needed to sustain more drives & keep there offense off the field but when we did score it was quick but we lost the other 2 aspect of the game which is special teams & defense
They started at the 30 the entire game & spread us out
Yea there were some questionable calls especially at the end
But that shouldn't dictate whether or not we win on lose a game period

We're getting tougher & we gotta put it behind us & will be fine
I can take a competitive loss over a blowout anyday
