Heads will explode if we put up 40 points two weeks in a row.

I have a feeling Cortland Innegan (Andre beat the "F" out of him) is going to have a long day trying to cover our receivers

London Fletcher will NOT permit this team to let down this early in the season.

I expect it to be a much more competitive game than last week (without a QB of the quality of Brees, what would the score have been?), but the Redskins have more weapons than the Rams... so, unless Stephen Jackson goes total beast mode, slowing down the pass rush, and opening up big passing lanes for Bradford, I expect a win.
I would add that OUR QB will also not permit this team to let down either.

OMG, emoses post just reminded me that RGIII is our quarterback. Almost makes me tear up.

I guess the idea hasn't settled in yet. You'll have to forgive me; I've literally never witnessed a Redskins quarterback as good as this kid appears to me.

I know I'm not the only one who wiped a little "eye sweat" away on Sunday.. this kid is better then even we can began to.imagine. @ Baylor I tried to see as much of him as possible. His gusto hasn't even been revealed yet. Last minute comeback drives like what HE would have done vs NE last year..
I'm just waiting to see a 50+ yard pass in the air for a td, and on that page a big time run freezing and breaking of lb or S ankles jus to see his wicked speed to the house. Last week was the unveiling (as I called in the pregame thread fyi) but we still ain't seen nothin yet. He will get better and better.
THIS is the kid that had LESS incomplete passes then TD passes more then half way through his senior year! He will eventually throw a pick but he is one of the few that hasn't even all preseason included. He has impeccable vision... All the screens/bubbles that he threw to start the saints game were options... Options he chose! Let's praise the coaches but he's driving and making the decisions that got the pay off. RG fn 3!

I really don't see this as a "trap" game considering it is second game of the year. MS and KS will have him prepared. With a rookie QB, coaches take one game at a time and tend not to look past anyone -- because they can't.

If we put up 40 on STL, skins fans heads will EXPLODE, but the rest of the country will say that STL is still a horrendous team. STL is still a very bad team, but they do have a decent DL so in a way RGIII will be tested more than he was last week.

Now in terms of the STL-DET game, I wouldn't look into that very much. DET has NO running game; however, Stafford is legit but had a bad game. STL's D performed well and did so playing away so there is that.

I think we have to understand that the body of work of this team is very limited so we really don't have a good idea as to what will happen Sunday. If RGIII plays similar to week 1, this game won't even be close -- but we have no clue. We also rely on a rookie RB, so he may also be inconsistent (although I think that the NO game was a "bad" game for him; I have high expectations of Morris). We just don't know. All I ask for is that RGIII is well prepared, focused, and executes. If that happens, everything should fall into place.

As far as D, our front 7 should do the job. The expectation for me is that we hold them to under 17 points. I think this should be EASILY achievable.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

One of the things that jumped out at me is how wide open the Rams seemed to leave the middle of the field.

The INTs were bad throw/choices by Stafford. His first was a quick out into double coverage. He couldn't even see his Reciever when he threw it!

Next he missed a linebacker in zone coverage

His third INT was again into double coverage.

I doubt RGIII will make those kinds of choices

As far as the Rams offense; Bradford doesn't scare me. Jackson does. If we can shut down their running game, I seriously doubt Bradford can beat us on his own.

Fact is, I didn't see much in the Lions that impressed me and I didn't see much in the Rams that scared me.

I don't worry about the Rams beating us; I worry about us beating us

This one is a blowout. Kerrigan and Rak will be in Bradfords face all day.
Look for this one to be over early.

I agree that we will win this game but that ONLY happens because the players and coaches will both prepare and execute

these guys will do well as long as they continue to play together and to follow the game planning that takes advantage of our strengths on both offense and defense

we do not have great depth and have to go injury free - that ain't happening

we are still a 7 to 9 win team

but

this week's game should be one of those :D

btw - how good are our LBs? Perry, Kerrigan, Orakpo and Fletcher could very well be the best group in the NFL

our front 7 might, might even be able to make up for our secondary - altho Raheem is a huge addition as well
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I gotta say, I feel sorry for Steven Jackson. Dude is a workhorse, runs hard, but has been stuck on a crappy team.

I think we'll win a close one.
Where i am concerned is with Morris, he still hasn't done anything straigt up the middle. They tried that all thru the 1st half of the Saints' game for minimal gains and he got his yarddage when they let him bounce outside. I am afraid that he is going to become a one-dimensional runner so that teams will know how to defense him.
I know this is only the 2nd game etcetcetc but i truthfully like Morris and want to see him succeed.
17-14 Skins, be a good day for RGIII and the tight ends along with Mr. Moss, the average pass about 8 yards. I think they'll try to make everything happen lightening quick, not give the linebackers/corners a chance to think.
of course, i'm usually wrong.

If the Rams weren't kicking themselves for trading away RGIII already, I predict they will be after this weekend.

RGIII? Oh no thanks, we already have Sam Bradford on our roster. LMFAO.

40 - 24 Skins
the 'D' will only surrender 17 points
Danny Smith will spot the Rambos 7 "you know, just to keep it interesting"

RGIII will chew up the Ram D and be the top rated QB in the league going into week 3

I keep getting this image in my head of Mike Shanahan in a classic white lab smock, hair ruffled, wild look in his eyes laughing maniacally . . .
"Muuuuuaaaahaahaaahaaa!!!! it ... is... ALIVE!!!"

Shanny is a great coach. Having seen how RGIII executes the gameplan, it is easy to see why coach always seems to be smiling lately.

once he gets adjusted to the pro level game, we will get to see what RGIII.1 looks like. How awesome is that gonna be?

If the Rams were going to beat us, they would have to do it with Steven Jackson. I expect them to run right at Orakpo and away from Kerrigan. I don't believe Fisher is arrogant enough to try to win a shoot out like the Saints did. Of course goin into last week, why wouldnt the Saints think they could. Nobody will underestimate us again!

We're gonna have to stuff the run and screens to Jackson early, Has. is gonna have to show a little patience before we start sending the OLB's upfield on Bradford. Having our DB's trying to deal with that monster in the open field is the mismatch we need to avoid at all costs.

I hope this game is over early -- and the Redskins are the winners -- but it will take about six or eight games before we have a good sense of this year's Redskins. Even then, each game will be tricky.

I expect a close game, and hope for a Redskins win. (Been doing that for many years)

That's the key. Our defense has to pin their ears back. Hard to do when we are behind.
