This is a little hyperbolic. Yes, Garcon made a great catch and finished wonderfully, but a lot more went into the play than that. Including it being set up by the 11 previous plays from the first drive.
Just like when there's plenty of blame to go around after a loss, there's plenty of credit to go around for this play and this win.
I listened to
Greg Cosell from NFL film give his take on that play (ESPN9 80 every Wed. at 4:00pm) . He said that the play was
supposed to go to Niles Paul, but he was blanketed by the linebacker. RGIII had t make a
quick decision as he went to his progressions and decided Garcon was his the right guy to through to.
Cosell, who probably watches more NFL film than any man on Earth, said that
rarely any QB, let alone a rookie, could make that quick of a decison and make that throw.
I agree with CvilleHog on this one - a lot more went into play than the great catch and run by Garcon. A team sport!!! Give Shanny the credit for giving RGIII the weapons.
