106.7 said Hall would end up on Jimmy Graham a lot. Of course that means more of Cedric Griffin. Yeah!

My guess is Gomes mostly, with a dash of Hall at safety, and a sprinkling of Doughty.

My response to this is really only appropriate in smack.
Doughty troubles me because of the offense we're playing. His coverage skills are his biggest liability. Well, that and not being athletic enough to make up for his lack of coverage skills. Rumor is that Drew Brees is really good at throwing to receivers.

I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Well I think we will see one or both of them.. Bernstein played aight in preseason didn't he? For some reason I think of Medeau as pretty decent as well... Am I off?

If we are hoping for backup safties to save the day we may be dissapointed? Of course I hope they do well but I dont want to see them in one on one situations.
Personally I would have a good dose of nickel packages for this game. This would mean Rak and Kerrigan lining up as DEs. I would have Fletch and Chris wilson as the two middle Lbs. Chris Wilson would be chipping Graham and blitzing most of the time to utilize his rushing skills. Fletcher would mostly be in coverage and blitz the middle from time to time.
So that would be a strategy of using 5 guys rushing the QB most of the time with six in coverage. So Rak and Kerrigan lining up as DEs Cofield, Carriker, Bowen and Jenkins rotating at DT for just this game. With Chris Wilson rushing the QB as the second ILB even though he is an OLB. Thats ok though. Even against the Run I think our front can hold up well in a nickel package for most of the game.

Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

Doughty is a strong safety. His responsibilities are mainly run support. I'm not that concerned about him. Free safety on the other hand...

Perry Riley will be the other ILB on most snaps.

well all I've heard here all summer long is about the improved depth ("hey, we're cutting people that can make other teams now....woohoo")
so, now we'll get a chance to see how true that is....or, was it just the the 2012 summer edition of unearned talk that's so popular in D.C.
the fun begins soon.

Losing both starting safeties in a week w/o even playing a game really sucks. The third safety is gimpy.
The fact that we still have credible safeties left IS a testament to our depth.
