He is a rookie with one good game against A HORRIBLE D.

I like the guy but seems a.lot.of.peeps.got blankets pulled over their heads about him.. I'm open to talk real in the starting RB thread.

I'm very happy for Chris Wilson. He was out of the NFL last year, but he never gave up the dream.

During his year off, Wilson had time to reflect on how to improve his results by tweaking his playing style and extra work off the practice field.

“Just learning how to watch film, learning how to take care of your body and things like that,” Wilson explained. “All of that pays off, and being able to put it together in that second or two that you have seeing the offense lining the ball up, is what I’m able to do now.”

The time off also allowed Wilson to mature, and appreciate the opportunity he had with the Redskins. Now that he is back, winning means more than ever.

“I’m back now, and even hungrier,” Wilson said. “We’ve got talent and I’m just trying to do something with it. Trying to get everybody to believe and on and the same page. Try to get some momentum.”

Not only is Wilson happy to be back in the NFL, but he’s proud that he held out for another opportunity with the Redskins—the first NFL team to believe in him.

“After being here for five years, I realized I wanted to make this area my home, Wilson said. “What better organization to be in?

"To be able to do something special in this area, for this team, means that much more.”

Agreed. He's looked good once, against a weak D. Not much to go on. I think Helu will start and Evan will come in once Helu goes down, a few games. We will be in need of another RB before the season is over. Love our players, but don't think any of them will remain healthy. They are not only injury prone, our OL still sux.

Morris spent his whole college career running behind a O-line worst than what he'll be running behind now, and he's the only back that didn't get dinged up during camp but I'd like to see Royster start and all 3 stay healthy

I'm excited and optimistic

the reality is we do not have a very good O line but we will see some young guys getting some valuable experience

this franchise is IMHO just 1 more draft away from having a shot at being a playoff contender with a great QB and players that are both young and also want an opportunity to help this franchise - it's going to be a franchise that other players want to be a part of for all the right reasons - NOT just the money

we do have a lot of young guys that are going to get an opportunity

I don't expect great things but I do think we'll see a noticeably better product on the field this season

and their 1st round draft pick belongs to the rams, thus reducing their draft for the NEXT TWO years to ancillery picks from the 2nd round down. (btw when is the last time the redskins drafted a successful starter in the 2nd round? Rocky McIntosh? He's qualifies as successful?)

nope, they're gonna have to start winning RIGHT NOW. Year 3 Shanahan knows he has to start producing TANGIBLE results NOW.

Their draft for the forseeable future has been severly reduced in value and they'll had precious little cap space due to their penalty.

Actually, they are in a far worse situation than the one you're dreaming of. All you can hope is Shanahan (the guy who hasnt been to the playoffs since 2005!) got it way right and RG3 is the next Joe Montana to mask all the massive holes on this roster than cannot be filled.

I think our oline is about average and comparable to the rest of the league.. Every team has "holes" but I think we are better off in more positions then a.people like to think and b.then we have been in a LONG time.

The depth at wr, rb, lb, dline, is probably the best its been since... Well I can't even remember that far back.

We finally have a glimmer of hope behind center... Who IMO will be immediately better then anyone we've had back there in a long time. Even if he throws horrible passes into the dirt ala McNabb and Campbell, or crazy picks every game grossy, he will still bring more to the field then any of them- add brunell Gus Johnson.. we can go all day.

So IMO I agree with SJ we are close super close, regardless of the record this year (although I predict a winning year, yes like every year) and next draft and free agency should get this team out of the swiss cheese years (full of holes) and to a pretty solid unit.

Missing our next two first round picks is not a big deal IMO... It's collateral damage that HAD to happen. We needed a top prospect at qb, and had to roll the dice. If not we probably would have flopped on Flynn.. no thanks! Fact is, we haven't been very good for far to long, and a leap of faith was needed. I commend the FO for having the balls to make the jump, and for going a different route... Retread qbs are exactly that retreads.. now we got actual NEW wheels, shiny new wheels!

WE HAD TO GET RGIII - absolutely .... no question

sure we'll miss having the picks but we just have to hope that we can add the pieces around him and continue the building

this franchise will be competitive this season and a playoff contender for sure next season

.... with a lot of young players that have had a year to get to play together :lol:

Funny this team was the oldest team in the league *three years ago, and now we are full of youth. People can complain all they want but that right there is a sign of things to come. I have no problem being the OKC of the NFL. Young + hungry = glory!

It can mean good things but it's a two-edged sword. I wanted to puke two seasons ago with how many analysts/commentators were fawning over Tampa Bay, who were the youngest team at the time. Everyone was saying "this is going to be one scary team in 2012 or 2013 . . . just you wait."

But in fact, it was a poorly put together team with an underqualified head coach (sorry, Morris -- I do love having you coach our DBs!), whose alleged rapport and charisma with players vanished the moment things got very trying.

What was supposed to be a young, talented team of the future was in fact a conglomeration of immature underachievers. They imploded with pressure and today are a team without an identity or clear vision on how to move forward. (Or at least that's the challenge facing Schiano; I admit I haven't followed his moves as HC.)

So, you need to be young, but that has to come with the proper balance of leadership and maturity. We are lucky to have a QB who is wise beyond his years and a HoF-worthy LB who decided to come back for at least one more season -- not to mention a coach who has his crap together.

All of that to say: I agree with you, ckr. :lol:

But with some important qualifications about what it means to be young and good.

After I posted I did in fact think of the bucs and how crappy they are with out good coaching and some vetrens to strengthen the team w leadership.. lol that's why I said the okc thunder of the NFL!

Butler says ankle is 100 percent healed

After getting released by the Cardinals on Friday, Crezdon Butler did not remain unemployed long.

The Redskins claimed him off waivers Saturday, giving the team five cornerbacks and Butler the second chance he had been seeking.

Drafted out of Clemson in the fifth round by Pittsburgh in 2010, Butler played sparingly in four games his rookie season. He was waived by the Steelers the following preseason and claimed by Arizona a few days later.

Butler, however, appeared in only one regular season game with the Cardinals before a gruesome ankle suffered in practice cut his season short.
